QMX build not quite right
I have recently finished a QMX 60m-15m which appears to work, but not quite as it should. It transmits OK in all bands, although with much reduced power on 14MHz and up. What bothers me most is that

Re: #qmx #qmx+ #firmware release 1_00_024 #qmx #firmware
Sorry, I didn't read the manual carefully. Everything is fine now. The QMX and QMX+ are excellent. I've used them to?make?hundreds of FT8 Qsos. Hopefully, SSB features will appear in the firmware

Re: #QMX Glitchy encoders? Not any more ? #qmx
Hans, From a cost POV, 8 tiny SMD caps is a trivial addition to the kit in production. And I don't know anything about what other negatives they may bring. But certainly for the thousands of units out

Re: PIN diode bias current unstable #qmx
I've got a similar issue with the bias current all over the place and 0 duty cycle with my QMX+. TX looks like its there at roughly 5W on all bands, but not constant. Transmitter voltage also varies

Re: #QMX Glitchy encoders? Not any more ? #qmx
I used 0805 caps as they fit neatly across the pads.

Re: #QMX Glitchy encoders? Not any more ? #qmx
Hi Hans, Yes, I completely agree that the firmware approach is a wise move and look forward to seeing how that develops. This was purely meant as a stop-gap solution to get my QMX back into a useable

Re: #qmx #qmx+ #firmware release 1_00_025 #qmx #firmware
Hello Andreas A simplified version of this exists already. It isn't as elaborate as what you describe here. I am always wary of the need for code simplicity; though currently only about 1/3 of the

Re: #QMX Glitchy encoders? Not any more ? #qmx
Hi all I'm interested to read about this modification. In general I don't like hardware debounce of things, including buttons and rotary encoders which are interfaced to a microcontroller: 1. Of

Hans, Thank you very much for this new .025 firmware. This is what I was waiting for. All filter setting are great and I can even listen without a filter. Tnx Maestro! 73 Durk PA3BYW Op wo 7 aug

Re: #qmx #qmx+ #firmware release 1_00_025 #qmx #firmware
Hans, just a thought regarding badly-initialized config data in the eeprom after an upgrade: This could be mitigated by introducing a config version parameter that would tell if there was a firmware

Re: Shimming QMX knobs?
I¡¯ve reached the point where I had to mount the knobs. Instead of shimming, I reduced the space in the knob. I took the thicker enamel wire, bent the last 2mm at about 90 degrees and cut off a total

Qmx+ and 6m band

Re: JS8CALL Setup for QDX #10m #JS8 #qdx
You're safe leaving it in None, but any is fine. The 10m path from NA to OC isn't open as long at the moment, but VK1HAM is still working US stations on 10m JS8 daily. Try and leave a MSG if you see

Re: JS8CALL Setup for QDX #10m #JS8 #qdx
None, USB and Data make no difference on the QDX. I cloned a profile from another rig where I had it set it to Data, so mine just happens to be set to Data. 73 Mat VK1MF | VK1HAM.

Re: #qmx #qmx+ #firmware release 1_00_024 #qmx #firmware
Hi Hans, Good question. Looks like the TS-480 used a combination of FW, SH, and SL whose behavior was determined by EX 045. EX 034 specified the CW sidetone. I'd be tempted to use SH and SL as high

Larry, how are you determining the actual receive frequency of this CW signal? If you¡¯re tuning it for the same tone frequency on your other receivers, then just check the CW offset setting in the
