Re: My QDX build
Some revisions of USB can do Power Delivery (Pd) where the device can ask for a different voltage than the default 5V. Some (QC) can do 9 and 12, full USB-c Pd can do 15 to 48 V in 100 mV steps:

My QDX build
I run my QDX at 9v (actually 8.87v) using a 65W Dell USB-C laptop power supply and PD trigger. It's a quiet and cool solution. I took the Memorial day holiday weekend to build it. The build went

Re: Internal battery and antenna tuner in QCX+?
Doug and Larry, How about a stack of 3 - 30100104 prismatic cells - 4 inches by 4 inches by 3/8 inch thick, 4 amp hours. The cells with that part number have protection boards installed in each one.

Re: max recommended SWR for QCX+
Hi, Charles The answer is: how long is a piece of string? Hans has tested the units at infinite SWR, both open and short, without failure. I think the failure issue is if the antenna has a very high Q

Re: QCX mini Template
You could use a "new age crapy 3D print" as a template for the cutting. Also Hans has printed the display outline on the PCB's : https://www.qrp-labs.com/images/qcx/photos/1.jpg which allows easy

I trimmed my attic dipole and rehung it so it is now resonant on 7.078, no more sketchy homemade antenna tuner.? My rig is now a RPi400 (or headless RPi4), a QDX and a dipole. Pretty simple. I am

W9UHU, I really like your implementation. Really makes for a compact portable kit. Had you given thought to a rechargeable battery instead of the Lithiums? -- 73, Dan? NM3A

Re: max recommended SWR for QCX+
Never more than 3-1 Should be less than 2-1. Lots of small tuners will get you to 1-1 Non resonant antennas cause all sorts of non wanted problems. Gary W0CKI

I did some tests a few years ago using thin twisted pair of wires. The wires can be run very close to conducting surfaces and walls and floors. The wires I used gave an impedance of about 120 ohms. I

Also notice the pegs used to semi-protect the control knobs on the front and back panels. Just long metric screws in nylon spacers from Ace Hardware.
