Re: max recommended SWR for QCX+

Hi, Charles

The answer is: how long is a piece of string? Hans has tested the units at infinite SWR, both open and short, without failure. I think the failure issue is if the antenna has a very high Q and is off frequency by the exactly right (wrong?) amount, so you get a resonant voltage amplification effect that exceeds what the transistors can handle. I would guess that at that point the SWR meter would read over 2, so my sage advice would be to "Keep it under 2, and check it with a meter that uses resistors rather than transformers, so that while testing the radio is never presented more that 2:1 and the resistors damp any resonant effects".

PS If it makes a difference, my QCX+ is a 40m build.
