[N3FJPSoftwareUsers setup problem 3
I am a relatively new ham trying to setup my ACL software. My rig control interface indicates that my polling works so I know ACL is communicating with my Icom 7300. However when I go to WSJT-X I have a problem. When I go to WSJT settings the test cat button does not work and I get an error message that says my hamlib timed out. This is the message. I'm concerned I may have inadvertently deleted hamlib so I found a folder that looks like this. I apologize if I am asking this question in the wrong forum. I have been using ACL and like it even thought I know I have only scratched the surface of what it can do. Being 80 years old, it takes me a bit longer to learn things ? Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

How to uninstall One Drive (WAS: Learned a Valuable Lesson!!) 2
I uninstall One Drive completely. You can disable it instead, if you wish, but I just got rid of the whole thing. Here's information on how to do that if you want to get rid of it: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/turn-off-disable-or-uninstall-onedrive-f32a17ce-3336-40fe-9c38-6efb09f944b0 You can't uninstall it in Windows 8 but you can disable it. It's all explained in the Microsoft article. Depending on what you want to to, there are links in the article that take you to other articles. I figured if I uninstalled it, I couldn't accidentally turn it back on. Donald KX8K

Learned a Vaulable Lesson!! 22
Yesterday, my N3FJP Database started giving me some error messages. And that happened after I starting using Onedrive. What I have learned is backup your Database routinely. I was able to recreate most of my Log, and some of it is now gone. I don't believe there is a way you can download a file from EQSL or LOTW. If there is a way, that would be great. But most importantly backup your database weekly if possible. You never know when the ultimate issue may occur. Mark KB3Z

Can the rig interface be suspended and reactivated while switching batteries? 5
I often use QRP rigs and power them from batteries. Because of this, I may switch batteries several times over a weekend, or at least turn off the rig when I’m not going to use it for a while to avoid draining the battery needlessly. Of course, as soon as I shut it off, Windows sends an audible thunk because the com port disconnected and AC-Log will complain that it lost connection with the rig. Then when I’m ready to go again, I have to turn the rig on and go into the rig settings to re-enable polling for the connection to be established again. Is there a key sequence, sort of like the <ctrl> <shift> <r> that’ll tell ACLog to retry the currently configured rig after the port has been reactivated, in effect automating the Settings, Rig control, Test, Done steps? Thanks! Kevin, KE3V

Access to port denied 4
Lately when running N3FJP the program keeps up with my Yaesu FTdx1200 but then I get the msg Access To Port Denied. I'll try Rig Control and get that msg again. Then I'll reboot N3FJP and/or my PC and N3FJP now works again. I went into Device Manager and made sure it duplicated the correct port settings, thinking that might be the problem. But this morning I again ran up against Access To Port Denied after a while. What's the answer? Appreciate help. Thanks. Jeff KB6CA

Easy Way To Duplicate A Log Entry? 10
I'm sure this has probably been discussed, but I don't remember when... This morning I was scanning across 15 & 20 meters for Parks On The Air stations to work, and I managed to work a few... Later this afternoon while looking at my Hunters log on the POTA website and I notice that one of the stations I had worked this morning had activated a 2-fer (an area where one entity like a State Park overlaps with a National Park, Historic Trail, WMA, etc) and their log shows an entry for the entity I logged plus another one. What is the easiest or best way for me to duplicate the one entry in my log so I can have one entry in my log for each POTA entity I worked? -- I'm good in the callbook! 47 & 73 de Travis KB5ILY / PG00041468 870-260-6068 (Phone) -- Travis W. Keeping ACL on two computers
Hi Bill, Thanks for your e-mail. Use the default File Share for AC Log. To network multiple PCs, simply put your log file in a location that is accessible to all the PCs you wish to network by clicking File > Save As. Then, from the other PCs, click File > Open, navigate to the file and select it. Any contacts you enter should appear on all PCs in a minute or less (depending on the refresh rate you set). That's all there is to it! Lots more details are here: https://www.n3fjp.com/help/networkinghelp.html Enjoy! 73, Scott N3FJP http://www.n3fjp.com Serving the Amateur Radio community with contesting and general logging software since 1997. 1 Peter 3 vs 15: Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. CQ WPX Contest Software. 5
Hi Scott, This past weekend I decided to use your CQ WPX logging software instead of N1MM+. I’m strictly a search and pounce low hour contest operator. I found your software very enjoyable to use. It has all the features I need without being overly complicated. I did have one intermittent issue. Several times while I was hitting the space bar after typing a call, the fields would get wiped just as if I was hitting the escape key. I had the world map open and wondered if it was related to the map updating so I turned it off but still had the issue. This happened probably 10 times during the weekend while accumulating 275 contacts. I didn’t miss out on any log contacts because of that but it was disconcerting when it happened. I’m running the latest version of Windows 11 and was using rig control. Everything else was flawless. I’m looking forward to the next contest to try one of your other versions. All the best, Joel, KB1KBD

What am I missing? 8
Hi group, Regarding N3FJP AC Log and uploading to LOTW. I've eliminated any QSO's which were before LOTW so I would not get an error for "outside of date range" Now, when I select ALL CONTACTS NOT UPLOADED, I inevitably get a pop up box as I have attached. I'm asking the program to upload any contacts not already uploaded yet I get this popup. Someone in the group I'm sure can tell me where I am in error. Also, is it possible to take another users formatting and apply it to my logbook. I know there are guys who have customized the layout very nicely and I'm just looking for a shortcut. Thanks in advance. Alan W4ANT

Gridqsuare Error 10
Hello Everyone, I use N3FJP ACLog on my home computer in the shack. When operating portable, I use either PoloLog or HAMRS, then export the ADIF into ACLog. However, even before using these portable logging programs, I encountered this error (screenshot attached). After a day of operating in the shack, my usual process for uploading logs is: I select the Station Location. I click "All Contacts Not Uploaded". When I do this, a window pops up saying: "Errors detected – Station location does not match QSO details." It also shows a message about the grid square. I typically hit Ignore and select "Upload New QSOs Only". Sometimes, I go back and manually fix the invalid QSO, but the next time I upload, a different QSO shows up with the same invalid grid issue. Is there a way to permanently fix this? Can it be bypassed? I’m wondering if I misconfigured the software when I first set it up over a decade ago. Thanks for the help, Charlie - WA2NWN

N3FJP Software Timing Out 2
Scott, This is a problem with my computer and not the software….I’m assuming. Just want to see if anyone else has experienced/fixed this issue. I turned on the Spotting function a while back and it works fine. I suddenly began to see that when in FT8 I would click on a call in WSJTX and N3FJP will give me an error message “operation timed out” but as soon as I click “OK” the info for the QSO correctly populates in the log. It’s just bothersome. Anyone else experience this? Again, probably some Windows thing maybe. Any help appreciated. Thanks, KN4ULT Paul
