Download Issue
2
Hello, I just purchased the Amateur Contact Log and I cannot get it to download. The download starts and reaches the end but then it hangs up and does not allow me to see the .exe file. I'm using a new Windows 11 machine. Where should I look to correct this download problem? 73 Don KK7WBH

Missing QSOs
28
Hello, This is W3ICM, Fred, in MD. I use the ACL, and I see that all of my 2025 QSOs, except for those today, have disappeared. I don't recall ,,,but there may have been a reminder box message to update which I did, but I would expect that all QSOs would be retained. Would appreciate help or advice. 73 Fred

Pota Plus extension logging to ACL
14
I've been using the Pota Plus browser extension for a while now but just realized that it has the ability to log to ACL using the ham-apps-proxy. When I log from the extension, it picks up everything except the park reference. I get a message in ACL saying it wasn't ready to log because it was performing another process. I also get a pop up saying "please enter a call sign before pressing enter." I do see that the ham-apps-proxy captures the park reference in the Other-1 field. I have my Pota Plus options set to include Other1=%PARKREF%. Any ideas on how I can get ACL to pick up the park?

WI QSO Party
9
Running the latest version. I noted the dupe checking stopped, likely around 0000 hours. I don't believe the rules allowed for dupe contacts in the same band/mode during all of the event. At the very least someone noted my call was a dupe. A find function lookup verified a contact with the station earlier in the afternoon. It seemed dupe checking was reset as the new day started. Did I miss something in the rules for find a bug?

double spots
2
Well, first use of the N3JFP's logging in some months. I must have forgot some basics. I made a couple of DX CW contacts, did not press 'spot last' and yet when I logged the contact it appeared twice in the spot section. -- Phil K2JF www.phillevine.com

Background Colors - QSO Rate Graph & HamDash screens
4
A suggestion for future consideration .... I've been archiving my contest results by grabbing screen shots or copying three windows (plus other things like stats): Main Log Screen HamDash Window QSO Rate line graph The Main Log screen is fine, but the HamDash screen has a prominent (and attractive) blue background, and QSO Rate graph is a thin green line on a solid black background. Printing those two windows wastes a HUGE amount of blue / black ink - plus results in difficult to read pages. Sure wish there was some way to control or eliminate those solid background colors when printing. Thanks ...... Fred, W9KEY

Main Form Fields
4
Is there a description anywhere of the various fields used on the Main Form? Although most are obvious by there title, there are some which I don't understand: QTH Group - What is intended to go in here, since there are other fields for state, county, country? I've read past messages regarding the lack of a "City" field. This field is certainly not wide enough if it is intended to be used for information like a city name. ARCI? Category? Check? Class? Conf By R / Conf By S - I see from using LOTW that I will get a "L" in these fields, but I don't understand fully how these fields are populated. Cont? Especially since there is an additional "Continent" field Precedence? Prop Mode? Section? St Snt? (State Sent?) SPC#? Serial No Rec / Serial No Sent? 10 10 (10 10 Membership Number)? Also, I've read in past messages that the Custom fields can be customized. How is this done other than by just entering different types of information (text vs. numbers vs. date vs. etc.)? Can the field title be customized? Again from past messages I'm assuming the field width cannot be changed. Thanks, Ralph KG8ZY

Is there a way to query the database to identify countries worked but not confirmed by band? I see the list qsos with unconfirmed but I don't think this allows a band by band query. Thanks - Rick NY1V

Can't Get My KX3 to Send CW from Main Screen in ACL
2
I am trying to send CW from the main form of ACL. My KX3 only shows one com port, COM3, to which I am connected. Following the instructions in the “Using the Rig Interface command structure (RI:) in CW Transmit Settings in N3FJP contest and general logging software for the Elecraft K2 Transceiver” below, I set up initial macros for my radio. The documentation states the following: “In order to use this feature a CAT control link must be established using the Rig Interface settings. Note that the Keying, Timing, and Speed settings in the above window are ignored. The only things that matter are the contents of the corresponding function key boxes.” Regardless of the setup, once all entries were verified to have the correct syntax, I receive the following error: I am confused. I am supposed to have a connection to COM3, yet when attempting to use any of the programmed function keys, I receive the error above. The problem is that I actually got it to work once, accidentally or course, yet I cannot replicate what I did. In starting from scratch and following the instructions below I have not been successful. Any help is appreciated! ====================== My conditions: Elecraft KX3 Digirig Microsoft Surface Go 2 N3FJP Reference: Using the Rig Interface command structure (RI:) in CW Transmit Settings in N3FJP contest and general logging software for the Elecraft K2 Transceiver -- n3fjp.com/help/CWRIK2.pdf The relevant commands are the same for the KX3. -- Ciao for niao... 73 de Savi W1SAV

Sudden LOTW loading problem
5
OK, prior to the contest last week I had no trouble uploading/downloding to and from AC LOG to LoTW. I used Scott's contest software for the contest, submitted my log to the ARRL and then imported it (only 229 contacts) into AC LOG. I then have tried multiple times to download to LoTW using the usual method and get this message every time. Does anyone have any idea what could have happened? -- Jeff - NZ2S

All Things Data
3
This is probably off-topic, so any replies should go to me directly. I'm coming here because so many of you are involved with various forms of digital modes. Digital is not my thing. For one: too many toys, too little money and/or time, too involved into starting up in POTA. However, I'm studying for the Extra ticket and, of course, there are a number of potential questions about digital communications. Some of the questions mention modes and methods of modulation that are completely unknown to me and - more important - in none of the on-line sources I found during a 2 AM search. Most of them claimed to be the complete guide to digital, yet modes on the test were not mentioned and beyond the obvious ones, there didn't seem to be a consistent list of common modes. I don't want to be a digital expert, but I would like to find a reasonable comprehensive primer on digital that goes beyond the surface. I feel I should be able to do and know better than just memorize the answers for the exam pool. Brian D. Warner WB0NWZ brian@...
