Adif Standard Version Supported by Aclog 16
Hi, I am trying to get an understanding of the format Aclog uses to write the adif files in that you can use to import and export data into. What version of the adif format does this software conform to and if there are fields I wish to use that are in later versions of the format that are not currently defined can I define these as custom fields and then have them exported when I export the records? In my specific use case I would like to log a contact as either a pota or skcc contact in a way that depending on the form I am using I am either in skcc or pota operating mode where the number I enter into the field gets put into skcc or pota for a specific park number. Longer out I would also like to find a way to log contacts in a way for pota to show if I was an activator or a hunter. Thanks, Tom

Keyboard PTT as alternative to footswitch 8
For phone contesting many ops use a foot switch for PTT to keep hands at the logging keyboard. But for various reasons some cannot use a foot switch. Maybe there’s a way I haven’t discovered yet, but how about a setting that makes some otherwise unused key (e.g. ctrl) act as a foot switch when connected to a rig that has adequate rig control. Adding a new field to AC Log 8
I operate from two different QTH's but use one common logfile. But I would like a simple way to keep track of which contacts are made from which QTH. To do this should I just edit my configuration to change my address each time I change QTH's, or can I just add a text field to my screen where I can just type in something like the name of my city? Thanks!

DX Spots 7
I have hosed something up. The only option I have in the Telnet Host widow is WB3FFV which is fine except I cant connect to it. Should I not have more options? Am I even at the right screen here?? A lot of the failure to connects were when I had Auto Reconnect checked (unchecked for now). I am confused and stumped.

DX Spotting 3
I am trying to get VE7CC as my spotting vehicle for ACLog and am striking out. Worse still, I had to delete whatever was the default cluster and now have no dx spotting at all with ACLog. Settings that I am using are: TELNET HOST>VE7CC-7@VE7CC-1>TELNET PORT 23>(MY CALL SIGN)>LOGIN COMMAND SHOW/DX>ENABLE DX SPOTTING CHECKED The message that I get back is "Attempting to connect to ve7cc-7@ve7cc-1 on port 23" but it never connects. The ACLog spotting settings page also shows that I am connected to the AE5E CC Cluster (whatever that means). The cluster recognizes my call and my name but then also asks me to sign in. There is no response when I enter my call in what seems to be the appropriate area. I must be overlooking or botching something that is probably pretty obvious.

Tracking Clock 7
I stopped operating the 10-meter contest when the band died tonight. But left the clock running. I know it doesn't effect the real calculated time but I kind of like to know how much time I've invested in the contest when I submit a score on the 3830 site. So I right click on the clock I don't really understand the instruction. I thought I could reset the time by typing in the new desired time. That didn't work. So I then try to deduct minutes because of the way I interpret the instruction. That didn't work. Everything I did just added hours to the clock. Is there a way to reset the clock? -- 73 Fred K2DFC

System Out of Memory Exception 7
Hi all -- I have been usind AC Log as my general purpose logger since 2004, and my log contains just about 325,000 QSOs. Periodically I back up my entire log on to flash drives. For the past several backups, I have received an error message that says in part "Exception of the type 'SystemOutOfMemoryException' was thrown." Before today, I have been able to try on a second or third attempt to get the ADIF saved so that I can copy it to a flash drive. No such luck today. Is there anything that can be done to address the System Out of Memory Exception once and for all? All thoughts welcome. 73, Mike K4RUM

hi all... MS is pushing out its latest windows update 24H2... part of the update is the question of "do you want windows to backup your files"... ie ..onedrive remember the cautions of allowing this if you have acl on 2 or more pc's. if so...you do not want to "backup" the "documents" folder to onedrive 73 jim wa4yiz

ACLOG: Accessing a common logfile from two different networks 5
I want to setup a logfile that can be shared by two clients, each on a different wi-fi network. I operate from a home QTH i.e. Op1) that is on one wi-fi network (i.e. Net1) and a vacation QTH (i.e. Op2) that is one a different wi-fi network (i.e Net2). There is a web-accessible NAS at the home QTH that can also be accessed from the vacation QTH, but it is not accessible as a mapped network drive. The goal is to use a common logfile that will be automatically updated as a "master" log from either QTH. But since they are on different networks, and one of the two QTH's PCs is off when not operating from there, it doesn't 't sound like file share or TCP would work, since these require both QTH's to be on the same network. Am I missing something or is there a way to set things up in the manner? Thanks!
