Re: AC Log Software

Norm - K7NWF

Travis, thanks for the info on the missing Counties. I found that I had Callbook Internet (Free -USA Only ) checked and QRZ Internet Lookup checked. As soon as I disabled Callbook Internet, left QRZ Internet Lookup enabled, I started?seeing the Counties in my Recent Contact Log.

Thanks again for your help, I learned a little more about navigating through the software...

Larry,
Check out the Bulk Edit feature.? Click menu bar Edit and then Bulk Edit.? You can only bulk edit sequential records.? You have to select a beginning and ending REC#.? You'll see when you get there.? You can leave the 'From:' field blank and enter your radio in the 'To:'.? If cautious, do a Save before you do the bulk edit.? I also added a Radio field and it works great.

Re: Filter Contacts by Radio

Kevin-? That worked!? I can now see all of those "missing" columns (including my "Radio" column).? I've repositioned them to be in the order I want.? ?It all looks great.? ?Thanks so much!!!
?
I guess I've always been unsure about the terms "Main List" and "Main Form".? ?The "List" is on the top and lists all of the contacts.? the "Form" is on the bottom and allows you to enter info for a new contact... right?
?
?
While I'm at it- here's another question....
In most of my contacts, the "Radio" field is still blank (this has only been filled in for the contacts made since the field was created).??
Is there any way to edit multiple contacts to fill in the missing "Radio" entry? ?All of my FT8 contacts (which is most of the contacts in my log) were made with my FT-817).? I can do a "search" and list only the FT8 contacts, but would it be possible to edit all of these FT8 contacts at once to change the "Radio" field from blank to "817"?? ?Or, is the only option to go through them one at a time, click edit, and then paste the "817" into the "Radio" field for each FT8 contact?
?
Thanks again for all the help!

Re: Easy access to a qrz.com record

Forgot to mention, when I do turn my pc speakers on? I get a speech alert with the callsign followed by being decoded. I only get that once, it does not repeat, every time the callsign shows up on the Band Activity window in WSJTx. I do get the different color of the callsign to get my attention.
?
Shouldn't get an alert each time this callsign comes up, untill such time that i remove the callsign from Watch List!?

Re: Easy access to a qrz.com record

Hello everyone. Been going back and forth with Scott on an ACLog issue.

I'm trying to receive alerts for special event callsigns that I have listed in my watch list.

Right now as a test, I entered a callsign in the call space provided in the watch list. I have also checked the boxes for speech in DX Spot Audio Alert and Call Tab Audio Alert.

I am running WSJTx digital mode and have that set up to log my qso's automatically, which works great.

Now when the callsign comes up that I have listed in the Watch List, no alert sound, but the callsign in the WSJYx band activity?changes color (which I have selected) in the API menu and that gets my attention.

Any ideas why I can't hear alert tones?

For example, typing W1AW in the Call field and then tabbing from the Call field immediately lists all previous QSOs with W1AW.? It also performs the QRZ lookup.

Re: Second Request -- Cabrillo Not Working

Hi Fred,

Thanks for your e-mail.? After you write the Cabrillo file, a message box will display showing precisely where you have saved the file.? That is where you will find it.

I've not ever had a report of protection software capturing a Cabrillo file.??In the very unlikely event that the file is not at that location, make sure that your protection software isn't capturing it.??

My guess is that it is not that "Cabrillo is not working" but rather it is just being saved to a different location. You could probably find it by putting the name of the file in the "Search" and search your entire computer.
I have mistakenly saved files (not ACLOG or any other N3FJP) files to strange places, but it has always been due to my not paying attention to where things were saved and making an assumption they were going to where I wanted them to go. This is usually after I have been using other software and switched to some other program. Is it possible that you have been using other programs on your computer that have dictated where files will be saved, as has been my case?
