Re: strange stopping
Electrical noise can be a bear. Steve Spallings mentioned PC grounds and system or motor grounds. I have his PMDX-126 and unfortunately the PC I'm using internally somewhere has the DC ground

Re: strange stopping
You are trying to fix a wrong schematic with cosmetic changes. You sure have a ground loop somewhere. Check your shields, they should be connected one side only with heavy short wire to good ground.

Re: strange stopping
The USB interface is typically not electrically isolated and if the ground
of the computer and the signal ground of the controller to which the Pokeys

Re: strange stopping
In my opinion, you should contact Vince at storm2313@.... he is very
knowledgeable and always ready to help you. He is fanatical about unwanted
noise in your system. I think he sells a USB cable

Re: Machine e stop activated mid cut
I tried to set the debounce 500 and 1000 and I still had the same problem. Not sure if this could be a machine issue. I will have a look at the wiring later on. Thanks

Re: Motor tuning
Your power supply is just as important as your drivers. Switching power supplies work for some situations. Stepper motors like current; raw unregulated power.

Re: Motor tuning
Quiet is good but results in less power. You want your motors to “sing” when moving for maximum power. Over power and over acceleration causes a growling noise resulting in missed steps ?
