You can install the?1.8 in the 500 slot. That way you have the factory 2.7 and the aftermarket 1.8. I read this somewhere, can't remember where, Kenwood claims if both 2.7's are used (455 and 8.8) at the same time, the receive is "effectively" 2.4. That may have been in the user manual but not sure. I'll look around. If you install the 1.8 in the 500hz,8.8 slot, when you choose the 500 filter, you will be using the 1.8 in the 8.8 IF along with whatever you choose for the? 455 IF. Hope I explained that well enuff.
