Re: FT 891 Sabrent no alc or power

Tried again portable today. Now it will not hold ptt for the hole time and it will change frequently on the radio when done. (From 14.078 and stayed on 14.077 and not go back to 14.078)? I got a cq out with a reply but when sending a snr it didn't hold ptt. Just clicked on for a second. When cq went out the alc looked a little high above 2/3 but take that with a grain of salt. I'm new? I'm decoding fine. I have no idea I will get something to work and without changing anything it wouldn't the next try. About the only thing I can think of is if the cat cable is picked up rfi. Information? Z-11pro turner? PAT forms and EES
#pat
The Emergency Email Server is an excellent tool, but when supporting an Emergency Measures Organization, they need everything on the official ICS forms. Is there any way to make those forms available so the emergency team can fill them on their own, and the EES amateur operator simply moderates them? Now that the forms are in PAT the task might be easier - or perhaps it is already there?

Jason,
?
Many thanks for the outstanding Youtube on making a WL2K gateway with a Signalink and not a TNC.? I am developing an Emergency Communication System in Santa Fe, New Mexico and WL2K is a central component.? I have followed the Youtube and have an almost functional system.? It will connect to W5SAF-10 but then gets hung up with "Trying?" and eventually has forced disconnect.? I have also included some of the dayfile from screen -r dw but can't see why it doesn't get passed?.? I am pretty sure all the passwords are correct for W5SAF and also N4VIP (my callsign).
?
Any idea what I am doing wrong?? Also I have many screen pids for bpq and choose the last in the list to make the system respond to incoming connection requests.

buster to bullseye on an ssd pi
I have a pi with buster installed to an ssd that I think i will move to bullseye. There are a lot of custom scripts in my home directory that I don't want to recreate and several of them are run from my crontab.
So my migration plans are this cp -a /home/pi? /media/USB_DRV? (a usb drive i use for backup) next step crontab -l > /media/USB_DRV/pi/my-crontab to backup the crontab settings. then copy everything back to the new bullseye install. Any other issues I should watch out for?? Is there a better way to do this? |

Looks like you have the wrong sound card selected. Look for one with "codec" in the name and choose it. If it isn't obvious, post another screenshot like before but so we can see the sound card choices available.

With the signalink, it is probably not a settings issue. More than likely it is an audio issue where you are not getting enough audio out of the pi to trigger the VOX on the signalink. Run this command
alsamixer use the F6 key to cycle between sound cards until you find the one with "codec" in the name. Turn the volume to max and see if the signalink will TX. You will probably need to adjust this once you get the PTT working to set the ALC on the radio correctly. -- 73, de KM4ACK

Re: Patron - WinLink Gateway
Hi Jim,
I don't have a TNC3 at the moment to test with but I'll try to get one ordered soon so I can test it with Pat Menu. It works fine with my TNC2 but there may need to be some tweaks to the code for the TNC3. Hence the reason this feature is still marked beta. There is a difference between the different models. The TNC2 uses channel 1 and the TNC3 defaults to channel 6. There are some older videos on my channel that may help you in the meantime. https://www.youtube.com/c/KM4ACK/search?query=mobilinkd -- 73, de KM4ACK

I am using a SignaLink for the 2m.? I've checked all connections; disconnected and reconnected, cycled power, rebooted, etc.
Here is pat configure settings, beginning below my log-in information.? I am not using any rig control.? I am manually adjusting the frequency as needed. I have checked the Direwolf configuration and everything appears to match with what I get when running arecord -l. ?"service_codes": [

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI don't think you're doing anything wrong... those are also the only templates in the template FEMA subdirectory on my pi PAT also.? If you check, you will note that the GIS subdirectory lists templates which are not available ... however, those templates have been moved to the main directory (local weather, etc, etc).? Re: Add modules to BAP installation
Cal, You can go to the Raspberry Pi menu in the top upper left hand corner, then down to Ham Radio, then Build-a-Pi, then click on Update-Tool. That will bring you to update what you already have installed, and the option to install more. Beau W6ERR On Feb 24 2022, at 10:18 am, Cal N9KO <n9ko@...> wrote:

Add modules to BAP installation
I setup BAP v. 3.1.3 last November with a couple of modules Pat Winlink and gparted. I now want to activate the autohotspot and any Mobilinkd modules. I cannot see how I can to this. Pse help.
Also, I am on Buster but will update to a new BAP on Bullseye if I can get the Winlink process working. |
