Re: BAP 3.2.1 Conky

It may take the system a couple of minutes to update the time in Conky. Also, note that conky shows local time & zulu time. One last thing is to make sure you have set your time zone in Pi preferences.

Hey Steve,

I don't have one if the DINAH sound cards to test with. I believe you would only need to get the PTT line configured in direwolf for the card. You might ask in the direwolf forum /g/direwolf/topics and see if anyone there might be able to point you in a good direction. One thing that you will need installed that I didn't use in the Winlink gateway video is hamlib (rigctl). If you didn't install it the first time before installing direwolf, you will need to reinstall both so that direwolf is compiled with rigctl. Please understand this is an educated guess since I don't have the sound card here to test with.

Stem project

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

Hello,

I¡¯m working with three schools on STEM (science technology engineering and math) projects. We will be launching high altitude balloons for each school flying home made loggers in the payload. (They are learning arduino, electronics, coding, and will be doing some data modeling with the logged data with python) One school I have 3 students who obtained their licensee and the 4th is taking his exam this weekend. I¡¯m really pushing them to get licensed as it would be a lot cooler to see the tracker flying with one of their call signs than mine.

We will be flying the light aprs +wspr tracker which will give us both aprs and wspr tracking of the balloon in flight.

As a reward I¡¯d like to get them going on some cool projects with a pi and modest priced ht radio. What projects would you all recommend or have you done that I can keep the fire going with this young hams?

Thanks, Tom

Re: Drivers for IC 7100

I, would still be interested on how this was resolved.
You don't have to download the drivers on a Linux system. They are already built into the kernal. Jim was simply selecting the wrong port for the radio. Once he chose the other port, FLRIG connected to the radio.

Re: Winlink Gateway -> DINAH and Direwolf

G¡¯day Jason (and the group)!
?
I¡¯ve been following BAP and your videos for a while and your video on the Winlink Gateway really caught my attention as it was something I¡¯ve been wanting to do for quite a while as there are not many gateways in VK and I wanted to change that.
?
Your video from December ¡°Winlink Gateway on a Raspberry Pi LinBPQ¡± was exactly what I was looking for, it went exactly as you depicted it, it is so nice when a project works out of the box so to speak!
?
My only issue is that I don¡¯t have a Signal Link (very expensive and difficult to source in Australia) so would like to use my DINAH interface () instead.
?
I¡¯ve read the docs, I get the impression that if I added ¡°PTT CM108¡± to direwolf.conf I should be ok.....
?
Sadly that did not work so I¡¯m throwing it out there seeking guidance from the experts on how to get the DINAH to transmit under Direwolf.

BAP 3.2.1 Conky

Hi
as I have no Internet, I found out another issue regarding Conky: It seems so, that gps only updated the date, but not the time. Looking on xgps I see the right time, but Conky displays a complete other time

Hi Don,
?
Thanks for the reply, AFAIK FL rig isn¡¯t in the mix, the software is just Direwolf and Lin BPQ.
?
About the only extra information I can add is that I am trying to establish a 2m Gateway and that the DINAH uses GPIO3 on the CM119B chip.
?
All the best!

Re: Winlink Gateway -> DINAH and Direwolf

I have a Master Communication DRA 36 and I'm running on Hamvoip. I had to switch a pin to make it work on the Allstar node I have from regular soundcard?use.

I never tried it on Build a Pi. I do know in Winlink Express I used UZ7HO. I had to download PTT.DLL.zip from the UZ7HO web page so UZ7HO PTT the radio.

I imagine that in Build a PI Flrig?is Ptting?the radio and if you point pnp codec of C media chip it should work.?

Good Luck

Re: Build-a-Pi Update tool not working

All three? I will play with it more later...

Also its been like 3 plus months since I used or updated BAP

BAP3.2.1 hotspot

I installed BAP 3.2.1 on a raspi 4b with 2GB. Applications, I use are running so far. During an internet shutdown I tried out the hotspot tools and the hotspot.
  • I configured the hotspot tools incl. auto hotspot check 2sec
  • I ran force Hotspot, After a moment I could connect to the hotspot and everything fine. I undid force hotspot
  • now I shutdown my local router, so my homenetwork was not available anymore, I waited for about 10min, but the BAP hotspot was not availlable
  • I rebooted the pi and waited again about 10min but BAP hotspot was not availlable
so in the moment it seems to me that only force hotspot is working, but the automatic switch to the hotspot does not work
