Re: Lightweight Low back support ideas while backpacking
Last year we bought the Helinox ground chair. 1 lb. 7 oz. About $100, crazy! It took us a long time to pony up to this luxury. We started with folding stools (could not use in tent) then used Crazy

Re: Lightweight Low back support ideas while backpacking
Have you tried your bearikade or bearvault in a horizontal position with your upright backpack in front of it and leaning against the cushy side of your backpack? Hope it helps. Julie

I love my Helinox Chair Zero- worth the 1 lb 2 oz (less if you don¡¯t take the bag) to me, not to everyone I¡¯m sure. Although I remember one horribly rainy day when I was sitting inside my tent

Re: Lightweight Low back support ideas while backpacking
I've got a Helinox chair zero, 17 oz. It's worth every ounce as far as I'm concerned. I carried it the whole JMT and many subsequent hikes. It is a bit of a luxury, but it sure feels nice to sit at

In addition to a light pack, I carry a framed pack with a good hipbelt to transfer weight to the pelvis and off the shoulders. I have a diy version of z packs suspension that allows me to unload

Hi Andrew, thank you for the recommendation. I injured a disc in my lower back about 40 years ago rotating the tires on my trailblazer. It's bothered me ever since. I do yoga but I'm also a runner

Hi, I have a permit from Tuolumne Meadows over Donoghue Pass which I originally planned to exit in Onion Valley. I won't be able to do the entire trip now, and am hoping to split it over a few trips.
