Re: Lightweight Low back support ideas while backpacking

Last year we bought the Helinox ground chair. 1 lb. 7 oz. About $100, crazy! It took us a long time to pony up to this luxury. We started with folding stools (could not use in tent) then used Crazy Creek style chairs for years, but I found those led to back pain.
We are older hikers, age 84 and 65. I have recovered from 2 herniated disks, (lumbar) so it is pretty easy for me to retweak my back if I am not careful. Comfort on the trail gets more important with each passing year.
We like these chairs because they are low to the ground and we can use them inside the tent. Or anywhere else. My theory is they will hold up longer because they don't have long spindly legs. Sitting in water, what a great idea! I gotta try that this summer.
