E4402B SA power problem - need DC socket connections
I have an E4402B spectrum analyser with an odd power fault.? The SA powers down after about 10 minutes, but works fine up until then.
(It has been working well in the past but has been unused for a

Hello,
I have the same issue with my calibration kits, the foam got very sticky
and the majority of the connectors are affected. Some had a dust cap and
only the exterior was affected and it cleaned

Cleaning N-tyoe cal kit
Not strictly Agilent/HP, but I recently bought a 2nd hand N-Type cal kit for the 3 HP VNA's I have.
I did originally want a new kit from Kirkby Microwave, but after 3 or 4 emails over the course of a

Re: display tilt adjustment hp8591a
Hi Wilko,
You are right, CRT screens are sensitive to the environment; steel, magnetic
field of other devices if they are nearby, gravity...but I found the cause.
When I noticed the display problem,

Re: display tilt adjustment hp8591a
You do not per chance have a steel workbench or similar? As I have found out the hard way ages ago (i.e. during my education) such an environment can affect tube trace alignment.

Pat,
I had thought about that too, but when I received it, the curve was reversed

Then after a power cycle, the screen looked like what the image

Yves -?
I suspect that's likely a magnetically deflected display, like a television, and has a deflection yoke on the CRT neck that's somehow managed to get rotated slightly.

Hi,
I repaired an 8591A for a friend, but the display on his screen isn't
perfectly straight.
I'm guessing there's an adjustment for that, but where is that adjustment?
There are adjustments

Re: OPT 003 (48-440 Hz compatible) fan (full size "Muffin" type fan) - replacement requirements?
If it is from a 8660, don't be tempted to go with a lower power fan, HP had some reliability problems with early 8660A & 8660B, this lead to them offering a free upgrade to a larger size fan in 1974
