Welcome message links not working 17
. In the welcome message, which I customized, the links in "You can visit your group, start reading messages and posting them here: /g/OperaRW" and "You can set your subscription settings here: /g/OperaRW/editsub" don't work. We get the message "This group does not exist." Any suggestions?? Owner, Opera RW

Display Name: moderator cannot edit? 14 #displayname #display-name
I tried seeing if this was a bug on beta.groups.io and was re-directed here. I'm a moderator for a group. The group Owner can change the Display Name for members in the group. The help says that Moderators should also be able to set and change Display Names for members in the group. I can just see the Display Name field. But cannot update it. I do not have the same controls as the group's Owner on the member's page. Am I missing something? Thanks!

Calendar Reminders 4
I load all the trainings for my group the month before they happen onto the calendar and set a 2 day Reminder. This has worked just fine for months. Today a some (but not all) of the events appeared that I had just inputted went out to the members of my group - weeks ahead of time. The odd thing was that they weren¡¯t sent by Groups.io (as far as I could see) but by Google wanting to know if we wanted to put these on the Google calendar. Can Google Hijack Group.io like that? Unable to add members to a group 6
One of the groups I have, aptaacutecareeducatorrehab, is not able to allow additional members. This is posted on the homepage of this group: Subscribe: [email protected] (disabled because this group cannot add any more members). I cannot figure out where I can change the number of members allowed for this group. Perhaps I did not set this up correctly? Any advice or direction you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Populating Groups.IO calendar via email 7
Hi, this probably has been covered but I looked through the thread and am unable to find a solution. I an sending a .ics file to a group Groups.IO and although the message is received with the .ics file as an attachment, I don't know how to get it to automatically populate the calendar in the subgroup. I have a premium subscription.

Change multiple rows in one column in database 4
Dear group members, Is there a possibility to change multiple rows in a column in one go? I haven't been able to find anything about this so maybe it's not possible. In one of my groups we have a database with journal holdings. Each row holds a contact e-mail address. I would like to be able to change one of the contact e-mail addresses for multiple rows. I can only see this being done one row at a time. But sometimes there can be a few hundred rows which makes it fairly undoable. I am grateful for your help and any suggestions. Winnie

Owner locked out 20
I belong to four groups and am the owner of one of them. A few days ago I could not get into any of them on my phone because my password was not accepted. As you know, the current password is not revealed in my profile. I am using a password keeper so there is little chance I entered an incorrect pw. Nevertheless I followed all the steps for requesting a new password, getting the email link and going back in but it never worked and I got trapped in a loop of rejection. Any idea how to resolve this? Thanks

I own and moderate four groups, which I've done successfully with Groups.io for several years, and for 10 years with Yahoo Groups before that (so not a beginner). All of my groups require moderator approval for messages with an attachment. This morning, I was notifified by e-mail (standard procedure) that a message with an attachment required my attention as owner/moderator. I clicked the link in the e-mail (as usual), and when I logged in, it no longer shows me as "owner" of the group in question. A test message sent to the "owner" e-mail address for that group was received by me at the correct e-mail address, so I'm still associated as "owner" in that respect. Further checking: Two of my four groups still show me as "owner". One group now shows me as a moderator (not owner), and the 4th group (the one where I need to review messages) now shows me as just a standard "member". All of my four groups still show up under the "My Groups" heading, and "posting" privileges listed for me in the groups are correct. No settings have been changed in any of these groups in the past year, and no other people are owners or moderators of these groups, hence no chance any other person may have done something wrong. Suggestions for corrective action and recovery appreciated. Dan

How do I know if a member is reading our content 18
I have 20 or more relatively new members (in the last 12 months say) who generally do not contribute. How do I know whether they are even reading our content or otherwise ? Its always the same people who contribute (give or take a little) but our activity tab doesnt show when a member reads content only if they ever contribute - barry

Subgroup deleted, anyway to retrieve its contents? Also, trying to back up all other subgroups and the export button is missing. 2
We have a main group with 7 subgroups and Premium subscription. One subgroup was deleted last night -accidentally or maliciously. We¡¯ve removed that person from all the groups so they hopefully can¡¯t delete other subgroups. We can¡¯t rule out that we have somehow been hacked though. I¡±m trying to export all the groups so we now have a back up. I¡¯ve done this before but only for my subgroup and not recently. Now the export button is missing. 2 questions - 1 Does a premium subscription come with any backup? 2 - I¡¯m following the instructions in the manual to export but the export button is gone and I can¡¯t find it anywhere. Is it now somewhere else and the manual hasn¡¯t yet updated the instructions? Thanks in advance for the help you¡¯re able to offer.

help with emails being truncated 2
Hi, A group I admin has always truncated email addresses since I started 5 years ago- showing them incomplete (the first part of the email shows and the latter half is just "..."). If we put a space somewhere in the email we can get around it. However, just today I noticed another group I'm in doesn't automatically truncate emails addresses. How can I get my group to stop truncating email addresses? Thanks!

Calendar appointment not being delivered to the members of a subgroup 2
Hello, Sorry for opening multiple topics, but we have another issue that is concerning the calendar. We run a series of subgroups, each of them quite active. We organize monthly calls, and we usually do so by setting up an Outlook calendar, and inviting the "email" address of the subgroup. This has always worked well, people usually get a calendar invite, and regardless if they accept it or not, it stays in their Outlook - which is great. However, in one of the subgroups, the calendar invite was converted to an .ics file and nobody received the regular meeting request. We've tried to replicate it on other groups, but without success. Anyone knows why? What would be the best way of setting calendar meetings -- from Outlook or from the Group interface? What if we want to keep anonymous the people that respond to that calendar invite? Thanks!

The word "FWD" is being stripped from the topic title, but not the word "FW" - when forwarding an email. 5
Hello, we just stumbled upon a curiosity. In one of our subgroups, someone forwarded an email to the group email address. However the "FWD" from the title was stripped once it arrived on the platform. We've tried again with "FW", and that didn't get removed. Any idea why? And are there other words that get removed if used in a title? Thanks!

problem with Edge 5
I am using Edge as my browser on Windows 11. Yesterday morning, after successfully viewing my IO groups, all of a sudden I was getting this screen instead of a view of my groups: Clicking on any of those lines does nothing. I am able to see other websites just fine. I switched to Chrome and I can access my groups just fine. Anyone know what happened? It's not just me. Another of my members using Edge is reporting the same thing. Strange that it didn't happen right after a Windows update. I've cleared my cookies and still not able to view my groups. Annick

We have fewer than 12 messages a day, sometimes just 2-3 daily. Is that why former ¡°owner¡±, now a moderator, is not getting a daily digest?

how quickly until a group is approved 3
Just started an alumni group that I was hoping to post to today. Didn't realize that one couldn't post until the group was "approved." Does anyone know how long it typically takes before a group is approved? Is it minutes, hours, days? Trying to figure out if I'll need to send out my time sensitive message another way. How to prevent one person from seeing a single group email? 10
Hello! We sometimes have birthday surprises or events for a single person within an email group and we don't want them to see the email. What is the best way to temporarily keep that person from seeing the surprise notice? I tried "none" for owner email, but that failed lol. I don't know if it matters if that person is also a moderator. I appreciate any advice, thank you!
