Moderator not receiving Full Digest

We have fewer than 12 messages a day, sometimes just 2-3 daily. ?Is that why former ¡°owner¡±, now a moderator, is not getting a daily digest?? Just to clear up some terminology to start with: there are digests (in either HTML or plain text format) and there's a Daily Summary.?? A digest is a collection of up to 12 messages.? If there have been less than 12 messages since the last one was sent, then a digest containing the remaining messages is sent at 06:00 local time.?? So, if are 15 messages are posted, then a digest will be sent at the 12th one and then the remaining 3 will be sent at 06:00.? If there are less than 12, then a digest will just be sent at 06:00. If no messages have been posted, then no digest will be sent.
?
A Daily Summary is sent at 06:00 local time an just contains links to the messages that have been posted so to read the message, you need to be online (and logged in if the messages relate to a private group).
?
The contents of the Digests and Daily Summary are determine by an individual's settings in terms of topics and/or hashtags they have muted or followed so one member's digest/summary can be different from another member.
?
You should check the email delivery history for the member concerned to determine if a message has been sent to them and whether Groups.io has reported any issues delivering that to their mail provider.

then the remaining 3 will be sent at 06:00 Unless a digest has been sent to them within the last 6 hours.

You suggested I check to see what email has been sent to a member who says she is not getting her digest. Would you please tell me where to check; I see only each member¡¯s preference for digest/single/summary etc. Thanks Emily? ?
In Admin, go to Members. Search for the member you want. Use the Membership dropdown menu. You can see Activity History as well as Email Delivery History.

Unless a digest has been sent to them within the last 6 hours.Yes, the manual does say that but I've never encountered it and it leaves a big hole in the information as far as I can see. For example, if there are enough messages posted to a group that cause a Digest to be sent in the early hours of the morning (say 02:00) and then other messages (less than 12) are posted before 06:00. According to the manual, a Digest wouldn't be produced at 06:00 because one has been sent within the last 6 hours, but it doesn't say precisely when it will be. If no other messages are posted to the group, it would seem that the next Digest would be created at 06:00 the following day which, in this example, would be a gap of 28 hours. That seems an unreasonable delay to me. ?

If there were additional posts added to the 'remainder' that bring the total to 12, then a digest would be sent.? If none, then it would indeed be the next day.? This would seem to be an unusual situation, but could happen.? There would need to be a spurt of posts to cause a digest, then little or nothing for many hours.? Adding in that each person's subscription settings, including muting, can cause different delivery rates makes it more difficult to calculate exactly when the next delivery would be attempted.

Yes, the manual does say that but I've never encountered it...Happened to me a couple days ago - right here in GMF - found some messages on the web site that were posted in the wee hours (local time) but weren't delivered in the morning digest. That [up to 30 hours] seems an unreasonable delay to me. Me too. I'm "pretty sure" it was prompted by some folks who received a pair of digests nearly back-to-back (i.e.: bracketed by the 0600 hour) and thought something was broken. Not sufficient reason, IMO, but it is what it is.

Altenatively, go for "Daily Summary" which does
come out daily ... You receive a once-daily list of topics that were posted that day. Unlike the digests, the summary does not include the text of any of the messages. It contains only a list of topics. Note:?You will still receive special notices individually. --? Malcolm Austen -- malcolm.austen@... |
