Populating Groups.IO calendar via email
Hi, this probably has been covered but I looked through the thread and am unable to find a solution.? I an sending a .ics file to a group Groups.IO and although the message is received with the .ics file as an attachment,? I don't know how to get it to automatically populate the calendar in the subgroup.? I have a premium subscription. |
Hi,
I checked the help file (Member‘s manual) but didn‘t find any reference to ?create groups.io calendar entries using ICS files“. I suspect that‘s not possible. Check yourself - Help - Members Manual.
You can export existing calendar entries into an ICS files, but not the other way round it seems.

This example shows how the invite appears in my Outlook 365 client before sending: ?

Depending upon your group settings, the meeting invite may show up as a pending message on your group. The paperclip symbol indicates there's an attachment (in this case it's the .ics file which contains the meeting details):

When the message is processed by 开云体育, you will see a sent message and added event entry on the Activity Log. If the message required approval, you will see an entry for that too.
?
The meeting request will then show in your subgroup calendar:

I was premature in declaring victory...I got it to work by changing the settings in the preference menu to allow messages from non-members to be moderated instead of rejected and for parent members to post, but when I tried to send from a google calendar account using the email address of one of the members in the group, I still get an error message that I don't have permission to post.

Note:? On proofreading this morning, I realized I left out the > Features part of the path.

Lots of detailed information can be found in the Owners Manual and Members Manual. |

What do you mean when you say you are sending from an account of another member in the group?? If you are sending the invite, it's your permissions that are checked. Why would you be trying to use someone else's account? ?
