Re: Pressing your own FSO
Thanks for answering so soon. ?After spraying the seeds, do you keep them covered or let them dry a bit, uncovered? ?I can see, though, that as you mention, it might not solve my particular problem, the results being hard to discern unless we get a new coffee grinder because the old one is so encrusted with oil residue already. ? |
Re: Pressing your own FSO
At different times, before finding the farm in the Dakotas, we have ?bought both golden and dark brown seeds at a nearby store The latter were easy to clean up with a brush or cloth, but the golden ones were ?sticky, regardless of their source. ?Even a fine sandpaper doesn’t help much, but unfortunately, my husband wants to stick (not a pun) to them. ?Will have to wait till morning to check on the name of our coffee grinder. It was about the simplest and cheapest offered on Amazon. |
Re: Pressing your own FSO
I also get my flaxseeds from Askegaard.? I need a lot since I press my own oil, so I buy 30 lbs. at a time.? Organic and highest quality, highly recommend! On Mon, Jan 13, 2025 at 10:44?AM Rod Holmgren via <s4sindus=[email protected]> wrote:

Re: Pressing your own FSO
I buy flax seeds from a local farm as well, albeit through the grocery store, Askegaard. Farms I have never experienced your problem. Curious as to what type of coffee grinder you are using. I use a $17 Hamilton Beach grinder with visible spinning blades. All it takes is a little brush and a blow to clean. I wonder if a different source of flax seeds might offer better results? I do not think that moistening the flax seeds will help. Re: Pressing your own FSO
Kyle - what kind of press do you have?? And have you had times where instead of the oil coming cleanly out of the slits in the bottom and the dry cake coming out the front, you get a sticky, gooey mass coming out the slits and gumming up the works? Re: Pressing your own FSO
Yes, it's a simple matter of spraying water on the flaxseeds and waiting a day or two.? But I think your issue is a completely different problem and I'm not sure that increasing the moisture content would?help.? You could try though. Re: Pressing your own FSO
Hi Dean - Thanks for that - yes any tips to get the oil out would be most appreciated!

Re: hemp heart
Hi Jean
Are you asking if you can add the hemp hearts in addition to freshly ground flaxseeds on the FOCC? ?
I wouldn't omit the flaxseeds as they are higher in omega 3 fatty acids, whereas hemp hearts are much higher in omega 6. Perhaps sprinkle the hemp hearts on a salad? I often add pumpkin and sunflower seeds to my salads for extra nutrients.
Remember, if you are feeling too full, a small person can reduce the portion size of focc. How about snacking on nuts for a great source of protein, too?

Help - Metastatic stomach cancer
Hello,
?
I have a close family friend in UK whose daughter (age: 31) in US is having last stage metastatic stomach cancer and declared by the Doctor as terminally ill and they can't do much about it now. She went through all required modern medical treatments but her condition instead is deteriorating. She's been provided liquid food through the tube.
?
I have suggested for Budgwid diet protocol.
?
If my memory recalls I read somewhere in one of the posts in the forum that there used to be Dr Johanna's clinic in Germany providing treatments even to those when Doctors have declared there is no hope of survival. Would anyone from the group by chance would have clinic's address?
?
?Thank you for your help in advance and look forward to hear from you.

Re: BP 5 Year Update: Doing WELL with CLL
开云体育Congratulations on your successes.? I was diagnosed with CLL in March 2016 with swollen liver, spleen and lymph nodes and a 3000 platelet count. ?Blood tests showed a lot of away from normal readings. ?I initially was told I would soon die a painful death if I did not start chemo. ??I met with a naturopath dr who led me towards Budwig. ?I started on a 6 wk diet program recommended by the naturopath to strengthen my immune system to start the fight ?then into the BP diet. ?I also supplemented with milk thistle and dandelion root. ?In 3 months no more swollen liver or spleen and lymph nodes had shrunk considerably. ?By 6 months a new dr determined I was in remission due to no swollen liver, spleen or lymph nodes.? I went to a third dr. who disagreed and said I still had CLL. ?He agreed to monitor me as I continued on the BP diet. ? By now my platelet count was up in the mid teens. ?By changing my diet I slowly lost about 40 pounds over about 5 -6 months. I was 71 when diagnosed and didn’t feel sick at all, just tired. I will be 80 in 4 days and I feel just fine. I tell everyone I am 39 and will celebrate the 41st anniversary of that long ago birthday. I still pretty much still follow BP but not as closely as I should. ?I do not eat the foods that feed cancer but do not strictly follow the protocol as I should. I need to do better!? I am doing well and I credit it all to the naturopath who led me to the BP and to the BP for my current health and state of mind. ?I have not stressed over the CLL for many years. ?BP has given me a healthier body and a very much less stressful life! ? Thank you Dr Johanna Budwig !? . ? Beverly? On Jan 1, 2025, at 4:32 AM, jfanciullacci via groups.io <jfanciullacci@...> wrote:

BP 5 Year Update: Doing WELL with CLL
Happy New Year
?
I have hit the five year mark* and feel that it’s time to share my findings :)
?
1. Did the protocol fix my CLL? No but it helps me to manage it very well! I still have the same enlarged (but seldom sore anymore) spleen and lumps as when I was first diagnosed.
?
2. Has the protocol helped me? YES! I am seldom aware of my spleen/bumps and I feel like I have the best tool at hand (BP) to manage my energy levels (hooray) and health. I also found that a skin condition cleared up, my nails strengthened again, the breathlessness I felt in the heat or when walking uphill disappeared (what a relief) as did occasional little red skin spots (related to CLL). The only negative thing that I have experienced on the protocol is bloating (I still struggle with this as well as dry skin occasionally).?
?
3. Have I relaxed after the original stressful diagnosis? YES. Finally. And I say this despite having a few more bumps (which ebb and flow). I no longer care about my numbers/stage. I no longer go for stressful check ups and no longer worry. That’s probably because I feel so good most of the time. I listen to my body and it’s exceedingly obvious to me now that my body responds to stress with sore lymph nodes/spleen. I have learned to trust that these reactions go away after a few days of calm/rest or after a good sleep.
?
4, What would I do differently if I were to start again? I would not stress myself out so much about the diagnosis and delete the ‘c’ word from my mind. I would trust the BP process while not striving for perfection. For example, I would liberate myself from the kitchen by prepping ahead of time for the day after a certain period of time on the protocol. I would also not worry about the alcohol. The champagne is a great energy boost and the red wine is a great relaxer.
?
5. Any other tips? I wish I had spent good money on various items at the start of my Budwig journey rather than years down the line. I would buy a Nama self feeding juicer immediately (what a time saver) and an electronic oil press like the Emilio Rommelsbacher (which I received as a gift this Christmas, so quick and easy and the oil is delicious - no anxiety re rancid oil). I would also go big on sunlight including sunrise, midday and sunset (with bare feet on the ground a few times a day). And I would opt for high protein cottage cheese which feels more nourishing than the lower protein quark I used for years.
?
6. How do I feel after five years on the protocol? I feel a sense of freedom, peace and optimism.?
?
As I come to the end of the recommended five years, I would like to say a big thank you to Sandra and to all those posters who answer questions, share their experiences and keep our hopes up!!!!! And of course, I am grateful to Dr Budwig.?
?

?
* ?Brief history: I was lucky enough to discover Dr Budwig’s protocol on this site shortly after being diagnosed with CLL (supposedly stage zero). I had a few small lumps on the right side of my neck (which I literally felt forming in the midst of stressful renovations) and an enlarged spleen (1cm). I got started on the protocol asap and worked diligently and obsessively on it for two years. The three years thereafter were also focused on BP although my times were less in sync. I did have non-BP foods occasionally while travelling or at a celebratory meal.

Re: Help finding entire protocol
Hello Ann, I use skyr as a substitute for cottage cheese and quark. Skyr is a low-fat cultured dairy product with a high protein content. I have been using it for several years together with liquid flaxseed oil and have also added a spoonful of ground flaxseed.? I am attaching a website where you can look for suppliers: . Happy New Year,
