I also get my flaxseeds from Askegaard.? I need a lot since I press my own oil, so I buy 30 lbs. at a time.? Organic and highest quality, highly recommend!

I buy flax seeds from a local farm as well, albeit through the grocery store, Askegaard. Farms I have never experienced your problem. Curious as to what type of coffee grinder you are using. I use a $17 Hamilton Beach grinder with visible spinning blades. All it takes is a little brush and a blow to clean. I wonder if a different source of flax seeds might offer better results?
I do not think that moistening the flax seeds will help.

Thanks for your comment.? We buy golden flax seeds from a family-run farm in the Dakotas and my husband prefers them to the darker brown ones, but they tend to gum up our little electric coffee grinder, the oil making it harder and harder to remove the cap after grinding.? It is also just plain difficult to clean the stuff off of the grinder blades, as well as the cap.? I am hoping that your solution for people who press their own oil might work for us, too.? Is it a matter of spraying water on the flax seeds or something equally simple?
