Re: Heart Palpitations
Hi Alex
I spent several years on a pension suffering with inoperable blockages to my arteries. Something about the locations made it too dangerous to stent or bypass apparently. Eventually I was able to have a triple bypass and all is fine now. My symptoms ranged from acute angina to massive fatigue to palpitations. I had to wear a patch plus use the spray often but they were diminishing in effectiveness. Sorry for the long setup but I did find a solution. Whenever the symptoms hit I would stop, totally relax my body - using slow gentle movements akin to the Feldenkrais method , look up (NLP eye patterns), deliberately smile, while going to my happy relaxed place in my mind and MOST IMPORTANTLY - control my breathing by doing reasonably full breaths with the out breath being two to three times longer than the in breath. This worked WAY better than any of the medication for me. Apparently when you breath out it kicks in the parasympathetic nervous system. The Feldenkrais type movements consisted of gently rotating my torso right and left in a spiral type motion. Aiming to get flexion through the torso. Slow gentle movements always relax muscles. Important to get the skeleton fully involved. I think though the breathing was the main component. If you would like any more info please feel free to contact me. FYI I am an NLP Master Trainer and a Feldenkrais Practitioner. I also developed a simple system for relieving pain without drugs if anyone is interested. Sorry for the long post. I hope you find this useful. All the best. Peter |

Re: Heart Palpitations
Hi, Alex!
I am using/following along with the FOCC with my husband, since January 2020. He has cancer; to my knowledge, I do not. I am definitely post menopausal.? I will share my experience with palpitations, and what I do for them.? I had had palpitations before FOCC, and used hawthorn berry capsules to great effect. I don't recall when or why, but at some point early 2021 (best guess) I dropped them out, and forgot about it. (It's also possible it happened late last summer, when I got the virus. Was off FOCC for maybe 2-3 weeks, and most other supplements during that time. Memory not so reliable since.) Until the palpitations started again.? I am back on hawthorn berry capsules. I do have homemade tincture on hand as well. (I keep it on hand should I run out of capsules.) Since it is a herb, there shouldn't interfere with the FOCC. I take 3 capsules per day.? Hope this helps! Frances |

Heart Palpitations
Dear Group,
A few months back when I restarted the protocol after many years, I began with store bought organic cottage cheese with flax oil that was pressed about a year before.? I couldn't find fresh oil.? I now make my own kefir cheese and I found a farmer not too far from me that pressess his own flax.? I get it a few days after the pressing so the oil is fresher than any store bought oil. I found with the store bought organic cottage cheese, I was experiencing heart palpitations.? It went away after I began using my own kefir cheese.? However, the heart palpitations are back. Anyone ever experience heart palpiations while on Budwig?? If so, how did you remedy the symptom? Thanks Alex. |

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHi Julie, Unfortunately, I have nothing worthwhile to contribute to your comment except to say how sorry I am to read of your situation. It must be hard to stay positive. I can only say I will keep your mum and yourself in my thoughts and prayers in the hope there is a turn-around soon. You mum sounds a battler. Fortunately, my problems are relatively minor, being diagnosed with prostrate cancer 6 years ago. My PSA readings since have been, 3, 4.1, 7, 7, then 8.7 this year, but dropped back to 7.1 after being on the B.P. for just 4 weeks. So I hope things are going in the right direction as I have put a lot of faith in this diet. Fighting my severe depression has been my biggest challenge but I am slowly winning - with drugs help. Please keep us informed. God Bless and Best Wishes from the UK. Malcolm Foster ? Sent from for Windows ? From: Julie Ma via groups.io

Nut butter isn't butter. By nut butter I mean a spread made from nuts to put on bread. I eat peanut butter often, even though it isn't exactly BP approved. Re: Calories
Hi Julie, I lost about 25 pounds within a few months after I began the protocol, but I needed to as I was overweight. Eventually my weight settled in and hasn't changed since. I believe most average daily percentages are based on about a 2k caloric daily intake so your mother isn't far off from that. Nuts have a good amount of calories as well as protein so if you have a food processor perhaps you could make your own "nut butter" and spread on Eziekel bread, provided she can eat it? ¿ªÔÆÌåÓýShe follow closely¡except no other cheese, no honey or wine. She does not like herbs, except twice a week I make curry. She dies green juice before lunch and drink her carrot/beet apple juice in the afternoon. She drinks about 8oz of green juice( either dandelion or watercress) and 12 oz of beet per day. We add about 2 whole walnut ( crushed into small bits) and thawed frozen raspberry and blueberries to the FOCC. She has sauerkraut juice before breakfast, then green tea with FOCC. I give her a lemon water( full or half lemon) to sip, with her lunch salad. The dressing is home made using dried herbs, garlic ?and cashew cream. Just to add calories. ? I calculated her calories and it's only 1700 a day and best? She has been eating salads for lunch, and I am going to add a slice of the sprouted bread or cooked garbanzo bean pasta. She weighed in at 120 last November when she was hospitalized and kept losing weight to 116.? After her thoracentesis in Feb she immediately lost another 2 lbs. But maintained the same weight since. Blood work showed her anemic and elevated tumor marker. Which the oncologist said it means nothing when they were within normal range for the last four years. So I am ignoring the results. I just felt like if she can consume more good calories, it will allow the body to fight better?

Weight loss
We had been officially fired by our oncologist. She diagnosed my mom last November, and we have not seen her.
except when we were at ER, we were told by the ER staff that we failed to show up for follow up. so last week, I brought my mom in and she was shocked to see us. But she literally stormed out of the room and said there is nothing she can do. luckily we had lab before she arrived, so the tumor marker and regular CBC bloodwork done. my mom is at 114lb but able to cook and care for herself. That is the same weight after her thoracenteses in February. ?She was at 130 last May. my question is, anyone experienced this type of weight loss and able to regain the weight? if so, how long did it take? what can I do to help? thanks. the protocol with total calories at barely 2000 doesn¡¯t seem to be conducive to weight gain. After all one meal with grains at night and all she had was about 1/3 cup at best. |

Re: Coughin
Hi Tony: This is really good information to have. I do notice that my mom has a bit of a running nose (but it was not anything that she can blow her nose to clear ( I will get her the saline and follow your instructions. Thank you.

Update on my mom: She had a thoracentesis a month ago and yesterday the X ray showed a moderate amount of fluid (less than large) and was noted that there was less in her pleural space on the left side. The better news is that her left lung expanded (which it did not seem to do so in the last 2 thoracentesis that was done back to back on 11/1 and 11/4). While she is now very thin (barely 115lbs) her pulmonary doctor also remarked that she kept her weight steady. Which is encouraging. I believe the protocol is taking hold and remain optimistic.? Along with her Chi Kong exercise, it helps to improve her lungs. She is now eating about 4 TBsp of FOCC (2TB oil) twice a day now. But I noticed she is sounding raspy and coughing more (it's a dry cough). I am wondering if the apoptosis is causing the dry cough?? she did not cough much in the prior months but it is more frequent nowadays. Any input/thoughts would be greatly appreciated. |
