I think I do have an answer to question 7. Does anyone else know the answer? I think Kevin Orr (comedian at the Red Dog Saloon in Cincinnati many years ago in the 1970's had the question and the answer to the question). I saw him perform at the Red Dog on a business trip I made to Miamisburg, Ohio while I worked for Bergstrom Paper Company. I don't know if Kevin Orr is alive or perhaps is now buried with (or maybe without) his shoes on.
The party's over but the road goes on forever, or is it the road goes on forever but the party never ends? Of course, unless it is post 50th Dalton 59 reunion, then the party is over for sure.
Does anyone else have any unanswerd questions?
Does anyone recall Chuch Willis who sang "What Am I Living For?" and then died shortly thereafter. A bittersweet event indeed.
Now we are in the ides of March for whatever that is worth.
All I know about March is that daylight savings time finally starts and daylight wasting time ends on March 13, St. Patty's Day is the time to drink green beer on March 17, and spring (hooray) starts on March 20. And the highlight of March occurs on March 21 to celebrate Benito Juarez's birthday. Sounds like a good time to scarf down frozen margaritas. Anybody else out there celebrate Benito's birthday?
Just out of curiosity, who in the Dalton59 group has a birthday in March? Or for that matter, who in the class of 59 irrespective of whether or not the person is in or not in the Dalton59 group has a March birthday? A bigger question would be "How does anyone know who has a March birthday"? Maybe I will send a virtual e-mail birthday card to those with March birthdays. E-mail birthday cards are a lot cheaper than snail mail birthday cards. It's the thought that counts--not the cost.
Then we can continue with the birthday list for future months if anyone knows of birthday dates. How in the world would anyone have a clue about who has a birthday in what month?
Glad to hear somebody actually reads my messages.
Don't you have anything better to do with your time?
I think maybe I will give each of you an assignment to write an answer to essay questions. Your response must be less than 5,000 words. The first one to respond gets criticized--just like in school.
Here's the first essay assignment:
Why are the school colors orange and black and class pink and black colors important to you? What would life have been like if the colors red and white as school colors and brown and gold class colors been selected instead? Why is a bulldog important as the school mascot? Why is the annual called Luanna? Why was Dalton built on a hill? Why was the all-girl marching band disbanded?
Waiting for your timely response to the essay questions,
Professor J Henry Scholarmeister

Well, I started on answering your questions but Pat did a good job. I have one correction for question 16. ?Nowhere, OK 73038 is about 426 miles from your house. As for "why is snow white?", maybe one of the seven dwarfs might know the answer.

Hi John:
Well, I see you are at it again!
?
Does anyone recall Chuch Willis who sang "What Am I Living For?" and then died shortly thereafter. A bittersweet event indeed.
?
That is funny!?
?
Wow, this just shows the power of the tongue - guess not only in spoken words, but in singing words.? I had better watch out - with my songs.?
This is my funny experience...
Last week I was setting up at this Rehab place, where I go monthly.? I had some shoes on that were a little worn in the heal and shouldn't have been wearing them.? The guy had just mopped the dining room floor and think it was still a bit damp.? As I was setting up, my right foot began to slide forward out of contral, and then my left foot slid backwards.? I made the biggest split you ever saw in your life - left about a 5 ft. mark on the floor - as I tried to hold on to a pole for support and about five people watched me?fall.? I was really blessed that I wasn't hurt any worse than I was.? At this point I decided the show was going to be in my bare feet, until the Activity Dir. brought me a pair of little footies to wear.? My first song up to sing...was none other than "I Fall To Pieces."??So be careful what you speak and "sing." ?My first performance in
stocking feet!? I even had to tap dance a bit like that to one of my songs.?
?
One of the black guys there named Oathe (prounounced Otha) said he loved to hear me sing and why didn't I just "spend the night."? I really laughed and laughed and said "well, I have my footies on, all I need is my jammies."? I got such a kick out of that - I laughed the whole way home in my car.? Really it was a beautiful compliment, because what he was saying - that he didn't want me to go home!? He just wanted me to hang out with them longer.
?
Happy Weekend - Class of 1959.

March 21st is also the birthday of J.S. Bach
and, if I remember correctly, our classmate Jeff Eckard.? I recall that it
was asserted that the first day of Spring was always on March 21st because
that¡¯s when Jeff¡¯s birthday was.

If Nowhere is in Oklahoma, then where is Somewhere?
I think Nowhere is also the name of a bar in San Antonio.
Thanks for the answer. I will add a visit there to my bucket list which seems to be neverending. Nowhere sounds like my kind of town.
Have a boffo day.

How in the world do you remember Jeff Eckard's birthday?
Do you have some kind of diary or what?
I am lucky to even remember my own birthday. I choose not to remember them I guess. If you don't remember, then how can you get older (and wiser)?
Doesn't Spring have flexible dates like something between March 20 to 22? This year it is on March 20 but Jeff's birthday is on March 21. So how do you remember March 21?
Later,

Yes, Spring does have flexible starting dates, but I guess the key to remembering Jeff's birthday is that the "traditional" starting date for Spring is March 21st and that is when his birthday is.
