IC-PW1 configuration in DXLabCommander

However, when I turn the I am having trouble setting up my IC-PW1 in DXLabCommander. Please help.
I am not good at English. I am writing this with translation software, so sorry if the text is strange.
?
I want to connect IC-PW1 and SteppIR to IC-7600, but the frequency control of IC-PW1 does not work together even if I set DXLabCommander and IcomPW1 control as described in the manual.
IC-7600 (Primary CAT Serial Port) is connected to PC (DELL Win11) via USB port (COM X) and IC-PW1 and SteppIR (Secondary CAT Serial Port) are connected via USB interface to the same COM port (COM Y). The IC-7600 is connected to the PC (DELL Win11) via the same COM port (COM Y).
After the initial setup, when the IC-7600 and IC-PW1 are turned on, the PW1 alert lights up, and after clicking it, they can be controlled in power off and on again, the AUTO LED on the IC-PW1 is lit, but the PW1 alert on the DXLabCommander is not lit and the frequency control is not linked. Then, when the frequency is changed using the UP or DOWN switch on IC-PW1, the PW1 alert lights up, and when the AUTO LED is turned on again and the PW1 alert is clicked, the frequency control is linked.
Also, sometimes, when the power is turned on again, PW1 alert lights up and when clicked, it works correctly.
?
This is the situation. Please let me know how to set it up so that I can control it correctly.

+ DXLab documentation for controlling an IC-PW1 is here:

+ As a first step, I suggest the you configure Commander to control your IC-PW1 -- but not your SteppIR.

+ Furthermore, I suggest that you not attempt to change frequency by using the PW1's Up and Down buttons; to change frequency, use your transceiver or Commander.

+ After you have Commander reliably controlling your PW1, we can discuss how to add control for your SteppIR.

After confirming that the IC-7600 is controlled by DXLabCommander, I went back and redid the settings again, looking at the IC-PW1-controlled DXLab instructions. The previous setup was also set up while looking at this manual.
At this time, I completely disconnected SteppIR from the PC, leaving only the IC-7600 and IC-PW1 connected to the PC.
After setting up, the PW1 alert lights up, and after clicking it, IC-PW1 and IC-7600 can be controlled in conjunction with each other.
However, if the IC-7600 and IC-PW1 are turned off and then turned on again, the IC-7600 and IC-PW1 will not work together. At this time, the AUTO LED on the IC-PW1 is lit.
Once the power is turned off, the IC-7600 cannot be controlled. It is the same situation as before.
I don't know how to solve this problem. I am in trouble.

To check the operation of IC-PW1, I disconnected the PC (DXLabCommander) and checked the connection between IC-7600 and IC-PW1 only. The operation of IC-PW1 is normal even after repeatedly turning the power on and off.
Next, I went through the “Controlling the DXLab IC-PW1” manual, step 1 through step 13, all without fail.
At that time, the INPUT 1 light stopped blinking in step 10. I then turned off the IC-PW1 as instructed in step 11.
When the IC-PW1 is turned on in step 13, the PW1 alert lights up and when clicked, the IC-7600&DXLabCommander and the IC-PW1 frequency are linked. So far, everything is as described in the manual.
?
The problem occurs when the power is turned off and on again, so I checked the operation in the following numbered order.
 1, IC-7600 & IC-PW1 [ON] ? Commander [ON] : IC-7600 and Commander are interlocked, IC-PW1 [uncontrollable] PW1 alert is not lit ? ?
 2, from the state of 1, IC-7600 & IC-PW1 [OFF] ? IC-7600 & IC-PW1 [ON] : PW1 alert lights up.
3, from the state of 2, PW1 alert Click : IC-7600 and Commander are not interlocked IC-PW1 [Uncontrollable].?
? Commander [OFF] from the state of 4, 3, ? Commander [ON] : PW1 alert does not light up IC-7600&Commander&IC-PW1 [controllable].
?
Here, IC-PW1 can finally be controlled.
However, when IC-7600, IC-PW1, and Commander, are turned [OFF], the next time [ON], it becomes [uncontrollable] again.
Is there something wrong somewhere other than the Secondary CAT Serial Port setting in DXLabCommander?

+ No one else who uses Commander's Secondary CAT Serial Port to control their PW-1 has reported a problem, Shige. Powering your PW1 off and then back on does not change the behavior of Commander's Secondary CAT Port. It only changes the behavior of your PW1 -- unfortunately, incorrectly. I cannot tell you why.

+ If you'd like to understand more about controlling your PW1, review this document:

www.dxlabsuite.com/commander/Riding%20the%20CI-V%20Bus%20by%20K8UT.pdf

+ It's author - Larry K8UT - was a longtime contributor to N1MM and DXLab, but is unfortunately now a silent key.

I have not yet received a response from ICOM, but I am beginning to understand the conditions when IC-PW1 becomes uncontrollable.
?
1, I have tried changing the USB port that connects the CI-V interface of the IC-PW1 to the PC, or changing the interface cable. it seems that the IC-PW1 becomes controllable in more cases, but not 100% controllable.

2, When IC-PW1 is powered off for a long time (for example, when it is powered on for the first time that day), DXLabCommander is unable to control IC-PW1 even if it is powered on. However, after that, when the power is turned on and off several times, the PW1 alert lights up and the IC-PW1 becomes controllable, and after that, the IC-PW1 remains controllable even if the power is turned on and off repeatedly.

3, Whether DXLabCommander can or cannot control IC-PW1 is determined when power is supplied to IC-PW1 by turning on the IC-7600 power supply, or when IC-PW1's POWER switch is turned on, in other words, when power for IC-PW1 control is turned on. 4, Once IC-PW1 is powered on, the power switch of IC-PW1 is turned on.

4, Once the IC-PW1 is in a controllable state and the power is turned on, it will remain so until the power is turned off. However, once the power is turned off, it is not known whether the IC-PW1 will be in a controllable state (PW1 alert lights up) the next time the power is turned on.

5, This phenomenon appears when DXLabCommander is used, but not when IC-7600 and IC-PW1 are directly connected. Also, I had previously connected IC-PW1 and SteppIR with IC-7600 and CI-V interface (improved version of CT-17) and IC-PW1 was controllable.

I wish I had a clue how to solve this problem, but this is what I can confirm now.

I do not see where you turn on your computer.

In addition, you say you are turning on and off your 7600 power.? Do not turn on or off your 7600 with the switch on your power supply.? Turn on your power supply first, then push the power button on the 7600 to turn on the 7600.? Turn off your 7600 with the bower button on the 7600 first then turn off your 7600’s power supply.

?

Also:? Once the PW1 is connected to the Mains AC power, the PW1 is always on and asleep.? The power button on the PW1 control panel turns on the PW1 ability to amplify the radio signals.? In addition with the Accessory cable connected between an Icom Radio and the PW1, then turning on the Icom Radio will place the PW1 in stand by and allow the Icom Radio to make antenna selections and allow the Icom Radio to operate “barefoot” through the PW1.?

Caution with low serial number PW1s serial numbers below about # 1030 will not operate in standby.? [I don’t remember the actual serial number, check further if it is below 1050.]

?

Here are some diagnostic steps to help see what is happening:

With the PW1 off, disconnect the PW1 to 7600 accessory cable also disconnect the PW1 CIV cable. Turn on your computer first then turn on your IC-7600.? Check to see that you can control the 7600 with DXLabs.?

If this does not work you need to fix your Commander 7600’s Configuration. ?Check the CIV speed settings and address for the 7600 primary port.? And while you are there check the secondary port for the PW1. ??In Commander’s Configuration you need to have se same speed and CIV address in both the primary and secondary Ports—see:

?

If you can do the previous test, shut down the 7600 with the 7600 power button.? Connect the 7600 to PW1 accessory cable and CIV cable.?

Leave the PW1 alone do not push the PW1 power ON button.? The PW1 will now be in standby mode.?

Can you now change bands on the PW1 by changing bands from the 7600 and/or the DXLab applications?

?

If the first or second test fails. You will need to resync your PW1 to your 7600 radio as described in the PW1 manual.? You need a direct PW1 to 7600 CIV connection to do this—do not use the computer CIV connections in this PW1 to 7600 Sync operation.?

?

Until you can control the PW1 in standby you do not have a reliable CIV between your 7600 and PW1.? And you will not be able to reliably use DXLab and commander to control your PW1.

This should work since the "COM" port for the IC-7600 will be
present by the time Commander attempts to access it.

If you are using the USB connection to your IC 7600, the connection
(ports) do not exist until the IC7600 is turned on as the USB
interface chip is powered by the rig and not by the computer as
in the case of most USB devices.

This is a failure of *most* rigs as the rig designers ignored
the simple design steps to allow the USB Bridge to be powered
by either computer or rig (basically a pair of diodes!).

DXLab Suite, like most Windows software can not work with USB devices
that are not present ("COM" port does not exist) when the software
starts.

I forgot to mention in my previous e-mail that I have set the menu “CI-V Transceive ON” on the IC-7600. Otherwise, IC-7600 cannot control IC-PW1. (It is written in the ICOM manual).
?
>Now connect your computer to the 7600 and connect your CT-18 up to the 7600 and use DXLab Commander to control the 7600—still ignoring the PW1, don’t connect the 7600 to the PW1 with the accessory or CIV cables.??Can you now control the 7600 from Commander?
IC-7600 ? CT-18 (CI-V interface) ? PC (DXLab Commander), this connection allows DXLab Commander to control IC-7600.
The “Command Interval (ms)” is set to [100]. If it is smaller than that, the CI-V indicator lights up.

I am using the following connection to use WSJT-X.
IC-7600 ? USB cable ? PC (DXLab Commander), This connection also allows DXLab Commander to control the IC-7600.
