Push hard on the plug into the radio. Sometimes it looks good and even ¡°clicks¡± but the two prong cable isn¡¯t plugged in all the way. I and a friend both had the same issue on that

I think with the Prolific cable it's probably using a fake Prolific
chip. That problem was so widespread they changed the driver to
recognize the fakes and not work with them.
