Re: Help Program Yaesu FT-65R with Chirp
You want to be using CHIRP-next, not legacy CHIRP. Legacy CHIRP hasn't been developed for over a year. With CHIRP-next, access to the debug.log file is as easy as clicking Help in the menu bar and

Re: Help Program Yaesu FT-65R with Chirp
I am not certain how valid this is, but prolific based cables are famous for not working. Most are counterfeit. The recommended alternative are FTDI based cables. 73 Ralph Ward

Re: Help Program Yaesu FT-65R with Chirp
To all who responded so far. It's something to do with this Win 10 computer I'm using. The cable and radio, and a legacy version of Chirp, work just fine using my son's Win 10 MS Surface. Same driver

Re: Help Program Yaesu FT-65R with Chirp
The debug.log should show what the returned echo was (or if there was none). My recommendation would be to open a bug report and include the debug.log. Jim KC9HI

Help Program Yaesu FT-65R with Chirp
I cannot get my brand new *Yaesu FT-65R* to program using Chirp and the *Yaesu SCU-59* programming cable. I am in Memory mode. Windows 10, Device manager shows ¨C *Prolific PL2303GC USB Serial COM

Re: Separate ctcss tones for TYT TH-9800
Apparently not. If the radio supported split tones, then there would be a Cross Mode column and Tone Mode would have a Cross selection. CHIRP can't make a radio do anything that it doesn't

Separate ctcss tones for TYT TH-9800
Is it possible in Chirp to have a transmit and separate receive ctcss tone for a frequency?? If so how do I program that?

Re: chirp-next 20240130 FT-8900
IMO, just allowing input of frequencies is not really supporting the radio, it is a downgrade from the from the, again in my opinion, previous serviceable version of Chirp, pre-chirp-next. That said,

Re: chirp-next 20240130 FT-8900
That is all that is supported for the FT-8900. It is up to the volunteer developer as to how much effort (s)he puts in to supporting a radio and how much of its features are supported. There are no

Re: TYT TH-9800 issue on Linux X86 version
hmm. Does Britty use a different package name? I did: dpkg -l | grep -i bri and got nothing that looks like what you are talking about. I'd be happy to have a clean fix like this.

Hi. Using Chirp, can you assign memories to each scan list? I can only seem to do this via the front panel and can't see any option in Chirp to do it.

Re: TYT TH-9800 issue on Linux X86 version
Yes. It looks like you are wrong. 1. I did a clean install of the latest Linux Mint 2. installed CHIRP-next following the instructions on the Running CHIRP on Linux page 3. logged out and back in to

TYT TH-9800 issue on Linux X86 version

Re: Anytone AT778UV
This radio only has a single bank of 200 memories. What you are referring to are the A and B display lines, not "banks". Like most Chinese radios, there is nothing provided in the radio for separating

Re: csv power column
The "Power" column works like this. When imported, the value in the CSV will be replaced by the closest match in the radio. So when imported to a UV-82HP which has choices of LOW (1 watt), MID (4

A csv file that I built will be blended with the downloaded images of several different radios. The "Power" column defaults to 50W, but handhelds aren't capable of that much power, of course. I try to
