Messaging Issues With VARA
All:?
I've noticed that APRSIS32 transmits twice (instead of once) when sending a message or replying to one. The 2nd transmission takes place immediately after the first and it only happens when using the Vara HF modem. Robust Packet (WinRPR) and UZ7HO don't seem to have this issue.? Any ideas?? 开云体育This is APRSIS32's list, basically just the list from page 63 aprs101.pdf. } WeatherUnits[] = { {"DsVP","Davis Vantage Pro"}, /* K0GDI */ {"Dvs","Davis"}, {"HKT","Heathkit"}, {"PIC","PIC device"}, {"RSW","Radio Shack"}, {"U2kr","Remote Ultimeter logger"}, {"Upkm","Remote Ultimeter packet mode"}, {"U-II","Original Ultimeter U-II (auto mode)"}, {"U2R","Original Ultimeter U-II (remote mode)"}, {"U2k","Ultimeter 500/2000"}, {"U5","Ultimeter 500"} }; I don't know of any official additions to this list, but the spec does say:
Users may specify any other 2–4 character code for devices not in this list. But of course, any additional codes would not have a human readable expansion. Maybe a job for the upcoming APRS Foundation? Lynn (D) - KJ4ERJ - Author of APRSISCE

开云体育I run cumulus which also makes a wxnow.txt file. They just recently added the ability to put a comment behind the weather string. Adding .DsVP will tell at least 32 you have a Vantage pro but I can't find the list to show the difference between
a pro, pro 2 or the vue.?

Enable the Transmit trace log and it will show the humanly readable packets as well as whether they are destined for IS, RF, or both (or even Internal).

Enables / Ports / Log All will also cause APRSIS32 to produce *.PKT files that contain all? RF handled packets, both transmit and receive, IIRC.?? Hi Lynn and group,
I think it would be very useful to be able to trace our own transmitted frames in a way readable to mere humans, i.e. not in HEX! Then we would be able to make sure we are transmitting the correct PATH at an eyeglance! So please at least do this or put it in your TODO list! -- 73 de Demetre - SV1UY (M0SUY) INTERNET e-mail: demetre.sv1uy@... Re: Multiple Beacons using APRSIS32 Internet Only
Lynn Deffenbaugh
Yes, the GP-* objects are all coming from a single instance of APRSIS32.? ?I also transmit a repeater object, 146.850-P (https://aprs.fi/146.850-P), for our local club repeater.? You create these like any other object in APRSIS32, and the key is what you put in the Cmnt string.

开云体育Also Lynn, this maybe the same principle as you are doing with the GP-XXXXX tower icons you are posting. ?It would be the same idea but using frequencies instead of mt names. ?Is the GP beacons all from one instance of APRSIS32?

Multiple Beacons using APRSIS32 Internet Only
I have noticed a local APRS station is beaconing the digipeater ID as well as the frequency for a repeater at the same site. (I know some of my TNC's have 3 beacon text available.)
I have various repeaters which are not digipeater locations but I was wondering if I could use APRSIS32 to beacon the frequency and tower icon for multiple locations? 1. Would I have to run multiple instances of APRSIS32?? or is there a way to create multiple call signs or frequencies each with it's own lat/long, etc. in one instance of the app. 2. I see someone is beaconing/positioning 5 callsign/ssid's using APRSDroid so it appears it can be done over IP. Thanks for any insight. 73, Brian W1BKW |
