Re: Table for Vertical Cuts with HFT Bandsaw
Hi Kerrin,
Yes, I am very interested in the drawing. Not sure from the pics how the table mounts on the saw, and would very much like to build this table. Thanks for all your contributions.

Re: Table for Vertical Cuts with HFT Bandsaw
Thanks John Vreede for the manual reference, I'm going thru it now.
You are correct in that the blade does ride against both the top and bottom guide rollers.
I will work on moving them back

The blade has been as you see it in the pics. Has not changed in ages.

Re: Table for Vertical Cuts with HFT Bandsaw
John, looking at your photos, to me it looks like the blade is not running on the back of the top wheel. You can adjust a couple of screws to tilt the top of the wheel back. This will ¡°pull¡± the

Re: Table for Vertical Cuts with HFT Bandsaw
PS. Sorry I forgot about your blade tension question.
Proper blade tension IS very tight. For a 10-14 Bimetal blade the blade
manufacturers say 25,000 to 30,000psi stress. In lb's of tension

Re: Table for Vertical Cuts with HFT Bandsaw
The only ones I see that make me wonder, are the shots of the guide
rollers. Both Pics 1 & 4 show the guide bracket (the bit that carries the
rollers) almost as far forward when vertical (or downward

Re: Table for Vertical Cuts with HFT Bandsaw
John,
Other suggestions for correcting the problem will probably do so. But the fact that the blade doesn¡¯t come off when cutting horizontal is probably a red herring. The load due to cutting

Re: Table for Vertical Cuts with HFT Bandsaw
Hi John,
I had an issue some time back with my saw doing the same thing. I guess like most of us once you get a bandsaw it becomes my go to to cut anything! So what I found was I had swarf build up on

John, how much blade did you have exposed when the blade came off, I
believe one should minimize the exposure.

Re: Table for Vertical Cuts with HFT Bandsaw
Well, this is awkward.
I took some pictures attached.
In vertical mode, I cut thru a 3/8" x 1.25" piece of aluminum with no problem.
I then cut a thin 1/16" piece, also with no problem.
I know the

Re: Table for Vertical Cuts with HFT Bandsaw
Yeah, Kerry's one is exeptional. The slot in front of the blade is closed
for control of the workpiece but still able to change the blade with the
table in place. Well worth the look -

Not sure which wheel comes off, when I open the cage the blade is off, I'll look closer.
And I'll check the assemblies.
Working on some pictures.
Thanks guys.

Re: Table for Vertical Cuts with HFT Bandsaw
Hi John
Very odd!
Need more info:
1. Which wheel does it come off? Top or bottom?
2. Do you have to press work hard into the blade or will any pressure do it?
Suspect it's to do with one or other of
