Concert

As many of you know, I have the great pleasure of playing French horn in the celebrating its?25th season at the Lone Tree Arts Center. Our first concert is September 27 with?Beethoven¡¯s ¡°Pastoral¡± Symphony (remember??), alongside the spirited rhythms of Dvorak¡¯s Carnival Overture and Lehar¡¯s Gold and Silver Waltz, and the exotic melodies of Borodin¡¯s In the Steppes of Central Asia. ?are on sale and we are already half sold out!

Love seeing sangha at concerts so I hope you will come.

Hi Bob and others (David G., Jim Long, Yosi, Martin and Kelly M), who have signed up for the Metro Caring event. We are?on the calendar for September 12 (12-3:30pm) shift for a group of 4-6 people.?Since we are going as a group, the instructions I got from MC is that only the group leader (me) should sign us in on arrival so no need to worry about pre registering online.?

If you haven¡¯t already, please sign the MC?, this link sends a signed waiver directly to MC so no need to download or print. For those that have signed it previously or attended training, there is no need to sign another one.
?
As a reminder, it is important that all?volunteers wear closed-toed shoes, as we are working in an active warehouse, as well as clothing you feel comfortable moving around in and potentially getting a little dirty. Additionally, we need to park at St. Luke's Hospital (or carpool from ZCD).
?
Once you arrive, please enter through our gray volunteer doors located on the South end of the building, at the end of our parking lot. Please arrive at 11:30 before our shift so we may do a short ?before we begin our work.

Please reach out if you have any?questions that might come up between now and then,

Bearing Witness - Our tendency in life is to avoid things that frighten us (Alumni)

Dear Sangha Siblings and fellow?members,

The is the core event among all the social justice practices and activities developed by Bernie Glassman and the Zen Peacemakers International.?

Karin Roshi has done this retreat in the past, sangha member Greg Clark intends to go this year and some of the members (from Germany and Poland)?in my Cohort 3 in the Zen Peacemaker Order have expressed their?intention to go this year. There is more info on the ZPI website or you can contact me with questions about anything concerning ZPI.
?

Our tendency in life is to avoid things that frighten us. But in order to become whole, we need to go deeper and deeper into ourselves by reaching further into the things we fear.

The Holocaust was the state-sponsored persecution and mass murder of millions of European Jews, Romani people, the intellectually disabled, political dissidents and homosexuals by the German Nazi regime between 1933 and 1945. Adolf Hitler¡¯s ¡°Final Solution¡± came to fruition during World War II, with mass killing centers in concentration camps. About six million Jews and some five million others, targeted for racial, political, ideological, and behavioral reasons, died in the Holocaust¡ªmore than one million of those who perished were children.

Join us in Poland to bear witness to this horror.
