Hello Karin
I hope you are doing well.
I wanted to give you an update about my latest scan which I had on Saturday, July 20. I saw the oncologist this morning and the CT scan with contrast was completely negative. And I am not in treatment. I am continuing to be in remission. I had a negative pet scan also back in March of this year and the doctors continue to be mildly surprised but obviously quite happy about the results.
Please let the sangha ?know.
In other news, I’ve sat twice at the zen center in Eugene and met the abbot. He and I will have tea after the August break.
Please give my best to Peggy.

Postcarding to encourage Voting in Upcoming Elections

From:?Bob Knott
Date: Tuesday July 9, 2024

As in?the?past, we will be sending handwritten?postcards?to primarily Black voters in Virginia, North and South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana to encourage their voting in forthcoming Elections. These are areas where there have been formal and informal inhibitions on voting by minority group members. Names, addresses and brief scripts will be provided to you. While legally a non-partisan effort, you can imagine which party and candidates?will be aided by? these efforts. You are asked to help pay for this distribution by contributions for?postcards?and stamps?at?the?rate of about 50 cents per?postcard?if possible. (If you cannot contribute financially, your labor will be greatly?appreciated and support funding will probably be available.)

A typical effort might be around $40-50. for 100?postcards?to?be sent. Explanatory materials will be sent to you?upon request from?the?Reclaim our Vote Campaign of?the?Center?for Common Ground. Local?Denver?organizers like Jackie?St. Joan have worked with ZCD members in recent elections.?Please learn more by contacting? or ask Bob Knott -?knott.bob@...? Please send your name to request materials or to answer other questions or concerns. This summer registration efforts will help prepare voters to cast their ballots for?the?state and national - Presidential - elections in?the?fall. Each vote will count!

Zen Peacemakers - Community Outreach

Bill Hamaker and I are going to try to identify fixed days relatively far in advance to set our dates
and locations for community outreach activities. We hope this will help participants to plan ahead rather
than having votes on different dates each month. For the coming month of July, we will support Samaritan
House shelter

there are openings for two
