VLATCH command no longer working
11
Using N1MMLogger+ (latest version) Could've sworn this was working in NAQP CW last weekend. Even reverted to previous version of N1MM logger and no dice. This is what I have in my F key: F9 V,{OTRSP VLATCHT} It doesn't "seem" to be passed to the box. Latch box remains checked (or unchecked) Manually checking/unchecking works, but that's a pita to do mid stream in a contest, so2r 2bsiq hi hi This has worked marvelously for years and now suddenly? Ideas? Tnx Mike VE9AA

SO2R Box v.1.33
3
Hi All, I just put a new version of the software on the k1xm.org website. The new feature is support for TCP/IP connections. If your logging program supports OTRSP and WinKey over TCP you can connect that way. It also means the logging program and SO2R Box program do not have to be on the same computer. This version was built with a newer version of the compiler and libraries. I have not tested it on Windows 7 and I don't know if it will work there. If someone has a Windows 7 system and wants to try it I would be interested in the results. Paul, K1XM

RFI Into Mic Line
9
Good Morning, I just received/built a "Run 4" box. It seems to work fine until I transmit local SSB audio at any power level over 2W. From 2W up, what appears to be RF feedback into the mic line causes the transmitter to generate ugly noise at full amplitude. Classic RFI into the mic line, which I've struggled with in decades past. Is there an easy cure? I'm thinking of adding several pF on both ends of the mic audio line on the PC board (each DIN as well as the 3.5mm mic input). I'd appreciate anyone providing a startinig point. Notes: 1. Ferrites (lots of 'em) on the DIN cable have little or no effect. Maybe lets out another half watt. 2. The RX audio was oscillating upon first power up due to the floating ground on this Run 4 board. The ND2T jumper was added; problem sollved. (TU Tom). I don't think this has any influence on the mic line. 3. Mic is a Heil HC4. Rig is a K4. The 14 dB mic preamp is required for full output. RFI occurs without the preamp, but at a much higher power level, as you would expect. DIN cable to rig is CAT5, using a twisted pair for mic and mic ground. 4. I scraped the paint from the chassis inside at the ground lug mounting screw position. 5. In TX TEST mode (zero RF out), the mic line works fine. Mic directly into the K4 works fine at 1500W. Thanks for any assistance. CU on the air (?)! -- 73 de Bob, K6XX

YCCC box and SO3R
Greetings to all ! I usually use the SO2R configuration, N1MM+, two keyboards and one PC. To switch left, right, both, I connected two pedals to pins 10 and 11 of the AUX connector. What is very convenient. Recently installed all the parts on the board of the box. I connected the third transceiver to the third input that appeared. Using macros {OTRSP MAP23} with AHK, I swapped the second and third radios. And then I got lost. How to switch CAT connection? N1MM+ only supports two radios. Currently I use an additional third transceiver with second computer and for switching I use the third pedal, which connects both ears to the third transceiver through a relay. Who knows the most correct connection for SO3R use in CW and SSB ? And what is the idea of four inputs in general ? 73! Yuri EB5A

Advice please.

This morning when I attempted to power up my SO2R+ box nothing happened complete failure, no Led's zilch.. Preliminary checks established that the box was getting 12 volts and the internal fuse was good and that the first voltage regulator was also good as was the on off switch. Has anyone seen this before and any advice on fault finding to proceed.? Any help much appreciated. Rodger/GM3JOB

Advice please.
I finally got round to checking out my SO2R+ box today, I followed Paul's instructions and discovered that the firmware was corrupted. I downloaded the new updated firmware and it would appear my problem is resolved. I will connect everything back up tomorrow and see how it goes..Many thanks for all assistance, much appreciated. 73 Rodger/GM3JOB

SO2R+ Box keeps losing its settings/corrupting its firmware.
7
I've been using my YCCC SO2R+ 4-radio box for several years now, and I'm very pleased with it. Just lately, however, it seems that, each time I switch it on, it has 'forgotten' its settings and corrupted the firmware. This manifests itself in the SO2R Box program by showing Radio 1, Radio 1, Radio 3, Radio4 in the middle of the window, instead of Radio 1, Radio 2, Radio 3, Radio 4. If I change it so the 2nd box reads Radio 2, it is quite happy to switch between radios on OTRSP command. However, the second manifestation of the problem remains, namely that the RX audio does not switch correctly - I can hear radio 1 and radio 2 in the left ear, even though I have asked it to switch to only radio 2. I re-load the firmware, using the SO2RBox Utility and all is well. Next time I switch it on, things have reverted to the errors described above. Is there some kind of backup that has failed? I can see no sign of a battery or a large capacitor in the schematic, so I guess it is in the PIC. Could that lose its ability to retain its setting? Any advice would be gratefully received. Thanks, John G4DRS

Left side audio only
7
Hi all, I’ve just bought used YCCC SO2R+ box. Successfully installed all the needed software, virt com ports etc. The box work properly with N1MM. Keying both radios and switching focus. The only thing I have problem with is right side audio in headphones. On left side I can hear left radio, right radio and both. On right side can hear nothing… Already checked phone plug, did some eye inspection of the board, resoldered bad looking connections on the board and stil no audio in right ear. Next I’m going to go through the audio path checking all the elemnts etc. but before that I would like to ask a question here. Maybe any of you had the same problem before. Maybe it is some well know problem or any of you have some sugestions? Would be much appreciated for any help. Cezar, SP5 Y

LED's OK, but relays not switching mic, phones
5
I've been using the so2r box for years, but suddenly this afternoon the mic and phones relays are not switching their lines. The LED's look like it's behaving normally, but I don't hear any relays clicking and the mic/phones are always connected to rig 1. Any quick ideas before the SSB Sprint? Thanks.

YCCC SO2R+ setup for N1MM and DXLog
5
I have bought a YCCC so2r+ controller. I'm having trouble getting it to work with N1MM or DXLog. I have made 2 sets of virtual com ports-(which I've used with my YCCC so2r mini), but I can't seem to get either logging program to key the rigs or move audio from one rig to the other. The controller is detected in the so2r program. In the so2r utility program, the audio can be switched and the xmit options will key the rigs and send cw or tune the rigs. So that tells me the so2r box is working correctly or at least I think it is. I have also updated the firmware today in the so2r box to the latest. In M1MM I'm using com 21 for keying and com 22 for OTRSP. In the so2r program I'm using com 23 for keying and 24 for OTSRP. Is there any setup help online which will guide me through the right setting? I've looked around and thought I had found some by W1UE but haven't come back across the page again. I am attaching pics of my setting for the controller and N!MM. Thanks for any suggestions. John K5RM

Straight key/bug with YCCC box and N1MM
5
In the SO2R box utility I select straight key from the keyer type menu and both rigs will work with my bug. When I launch the SO2R box app the straight radio button is selected in the keyer menu. After starting N1MM the SO2R box reverts to iambic and sends a string of dits or dahs. Can I run my bug with the YCCC SO2R Box and N1MM? Bill, N0AC

PTT assertion
2
Paul, Here is a situation that I just ran into and I am sure I am the only one with it. Setup: TRLinux 0.49, SO2R Box +, K4D, using voice memories in K4D, foot switch connected to SO2R Box (PTT). Works 100% on CW when using a foot switch/PTT to initiate memories (foot switch can be selected in TRLinux to act as hitting F1, swapping radios, enter key, etc.). But since the K4D stops the voice memory from playing when a PTT signal is seen using a foot switch won't start a voice memory (because of the strobe PTT closure signal that is seen by the radio). If I unplug the PTT line going to the radio it works fine. I have been in contact with Tree and TVBob on this issue. I believe it worked fine with a K3 but the addition of interrupting a vm with a closure from a foot switch on the K4D is what has caused this happening. By chance you don't have any suggestions on this? Is there anything in the SO2R utility that could change the operation on ssb? Tnx for your quick and continued support, Mike W9RE

SO2R box utility bug
15
Hi I am using the YCCC SO2R Box for audio routing for my remote station. Without contest software, just using the SO2R utility. Turns out that choosing STEREO on the SO2R Box utility disconnects the device with message "Device removed" and only walking over the the station and cycling the power will fix this. Any ideas? Thanks! Markku OG2A/OH2RA/WW1C

N1MM configuration of SO2R with 2 Yaesu 101MP
3
I have difficulties with configuration of my SO2R station with 2 Yaesu 101MP radios and I am wondering if N1MM allows 2 radios with 2 receivers. Every time I try to sync the two receivers on one of the radios, both radios change to the same frequency, which becomes a conflict. I can set the configuration in DXLog to work but not in N1MM. If anybody could give me a hint I would appreciate. Thank you, Alex AK1MD

PTT locking up
6
Paul, on Nov 11 I ran into this situation: I was setting up vm (dvr voice messages) on two K4Ds on Saturday. Using TRLinux and a YCCC SO2R Box + (this right probably only applies to two or three stations). VM were set up and I was testing what would stop a vm if I got a response on a radio. Normally an Alt-R would do this and it did fine. So I am remembering how if you hit the PTT (foot switch) with a K4D that will stop a vm. Well I tried that. What happened had me puzzled for 1/2 an hour. I lost audio on both radios. I was in Test Mode and when I hit M1 on either radio the radio would swing wildly in/out of transmit but I could not hear any audio (monitor was turned up) and still no rx audio. I tried rebooting the radios with the same thing happening. Finally after a while I found that the PTT was held low by my SO2R Box to both radios. Rebooting the SO2R Box fixed the problem. Now tonight Nov 14 I had this happen: I was in a little bit of a hurry tonight getting things turned on and then ran into a big problem. Whenever I would key a radio they would go into transmit and not come out. I ran into this thing last week before the SSB Sprint and corrected it by rebooting the SO2R box but this time it didn't work. I guess I will have to reflash my SO2R box W6FB replied: I had this issue with my SO2R+ box a few weeks ago. I believe it was caused by killing power on the box instead of flipping the front panel power switch to off. The solution was to bring up the SO2R Utility and reset the box, which resets the eeprom to default values. It worked until the next time I powered it off by killing the main +12V supply. I again reset the EEPROM with the utility and it has worked fine ever since. I learned my lesson, I now power it on and off with the front power switch, then when it is off, power off the main 12V supply. 73! Jack,W6FB So before I reflash is there anything I should look for using the utility so I can pinpoint what happened? I have always just killed power and I have not used the switch on the SO2R Box. Thanks, Mike W9RE .
