Use of pseudo-APRS-IS-server plugin (was: Re: [yaac-users] next beta build#181 of YAAC, created 2022-Nov-27)
开云体育Which computer are you running YAAC with the pseudo-APRS-IS-server plugin? And what other computer (and software) are you using to connect to YAAC's pseudo-server? Note that the plugin allows the YAAC instance to proxy access to its APRS interfaces for
other APRS clients; it is not a simulator. ?And neither computer can be running firewalls that block such TCP/IP access.
For example, look at this illustration of how I connected my cellphone running APRSdroid to YAAC to use YAAC as its proxy to the APRS network, showing YAAC's AGWPE and APRS-IS port connections to DireWolf (and a radio) and to the
Tier2 APRS-IS network, and the cellphone's connection over WiFi to the pseudo-server on the computer running YAAC:
Also, if you check the checkboxes in the configuration dialog, you are requiring that the APRS-IS clients connecting to your YAAC instance must provide valid passcodes.
Awaiting your response with more details of your deployments.

Hi all,
Is anyone using the new APRSISpseudoserver plugin of YAAC 181. Which port do you use? I try to connect to port 14580 of my YAAC IGATE running in a Raspberry Pi and it does not respond and the client timesout eventually.
I wonder if there is a setting I am missing. I have plugin 0.7 of APRSISpseudoSERVER and have already ticked both selection in Advance Configuration APRSISSERVER tab, but still no joy. I have not raised any firewall in the Raspberry Pi but is behaves as
if port 14580 is not activated in YAAC!

Re: Network GPS apps from phone
开云体育I have a fix for it now. I am still working on an unrelated bug fix that I also want to get in the next build.

Hi again Andrew, and Happy New Year,
Any update on when this bug may be fixed? Cheers, Mike. |
Re: FTM-300 with YAAC over Serial
开云体育The Yaesu bug was introduced when one of the users didn't want to stay with the Japanese date format, and YAAC misinterpreted the dates in a different format. When I added support for all possible Yaesu date formats, I forgot to include the
time fields in the date formats.

Was that a recent hiccup? I'm using beta 181 and the times are showing
fine for me. Michael WA7SKG Andrew P. wrote on 12/29/22 2:32 PM: > How embarrassing! How embarrassing! I wonder how nobody noticed the date was getting set correctly, but the time was always 00:00:00, because the date format only included the date fields and not the time fields.
In any case, it will be fixed in the next build, hopefully in a few days. Andrew, KA2DDO author of YAAC |
FTM-300 with YAAC over Serial
I am trying to configure my FTM 300 to use YAAC?to display the heard stations. I have added the COM port as a Yaesu port and set the date correctly. ?however all packets that I receive?show a time of 00:00:00. Any ideas on if there is a setting I need to change?? The raw packets from the COM port do? have time data associated?with them.? Not sure if this is a bug with YAAC or a failure of mine to configure the 300 or YAAC. Thanks, 73,? Steven? |

Re: How to add a path to the default message paths?
Hi, Dan.
You want to add your additional path in the expert-mode Configuration dialog (File->Configure->Expert Mode) on the Digipeat tab. That's where the default list of digipeat paths is managed. Hope that helps. Re: Network GPS apps from phone
Greetings.
Ack! A stupid typo; I named the driver two different ways (with and without hyphens in the name), so the port driver couldn't be looked up by its name. Will be fixed in next upgrade of marineports plugin. Sorry, everyone. Inside YAAC, just go to Help->Install Plugins, and you can download it from there. I had to take the direct links off my web page because I was getting too many hits from untrustworthy web robots.
