GPS/GPX file points of interest

Good Evening,
?
Should Point of Interest in a GPX file show up on the map or just the track section of the file?? I can only seem to get the tracks to show up not the included POI.? Maybe there is a switch I have missed.
?
I have attached a sample file for you to review.
?
Thanks,

Note that YAAC ("Yet Another APRS Client") is one of the client programs that supports using the NWS weather zones. I can't say if any other client software can use the weather zone definition files.

Re: i think i am missing something

Check and see how much you are receiving in the Direwolf console window (where it logs every received and transmitted packet) (or in journalctl if you are running Direwolf as a service). It's amazing how much difference the antenna makes. And proper audio levels into the sound card feeding Direwolf.

For example, right now I am running an experiment between my base station APRS (on a dual-band base antenna mounted on top of the house's chimney with a 10-foot mast) and a mobile station I am constructing, presently connected to a second dual-band base antenna mounted on the sewer vent pipe on the same roof (about 12 feet lower, but still 15+ feet above the ground). The higher antenna with properly matched audio levels is getting about 3 times as many stations as the other one (where I can't turn the radio's speaker volume down enough to not overload the mike input of the sound card), and they are horizontally only about 12 feet apart.

Hope this helps.

It's a recent bug, but it's not an import bug; you can View->Local Objects and see the import succeeded. The problem is, because there are no _received_ packets for these Objects, they are considered to be expired for the mouse click on the map. I tried to fix a related issue a few builds ago and apparently broke this in return.

I should have it fixed in the next build.

Re: Strange error message after antenna fell down

There is a bug in YAAC in the following combination of settings:
1. The beacon is using COMPRESSED mode encoding and is configured to send station speed.
2. The station has a working GPS connected to it.
3. The beacon is configured to use GPS position (and also velocity) to generate the position, course, and speed information in the beacon packet.
?
The bug is in the encoding of speed. Compressed speed is decoded properly, but that doesn't help anyone receiving a munged compressed-mode transmission.
?
This will be fixed in the next build of YAAC. Sorry about the inconvenience.

Re: Strange error message after antenna fell down

That's kind of strange. Could you privately email me your YAAC configuration (export it by File->Configure->Export to File)? It appears that there may be something broken with compressed-mode position reports.

As you can see in the message Direwolf is reporting a 'nul' character found in the information part. I am trying to figure out where this is coming from.

Re: Many different symbols on OpenStreetMap - very cluttered

Also note that the suppression of these OSM Node and Way types is per YAAC profile (if you are using profiles), and it does not take the data out of the map files (it just stops rendering those specific types), and you can re-enable them at any time.

If you permanently want to suppress certain types, you can filter them out while downloading the complete tiles from my webserver, but then you won't be able to get them back without a fresh tile download. The filter-on-download was intended for smaller systems that didn't have the disk bandwidth to handle rendering maps with so much detail.

Hope this helps.
