Re: Site Down?
Ye gads! That's four days since I fixed the problem, and people are still seeing "no name" errors, when my domain is configured to expire in 8 _hours_ to require DNS resolvers to look it up again. There were times when I was updating the DNS records in my zone rapidly for research I was doing. _Someone_ out there is ignoring the settings on my domain and caching stale information far longer than the Internet RFCs say to; it certainly isn't _my_ DNS service.
More reasons how the Internet is broken. hartmangj, who are you using for your DNS resolver? It's working now. I was getting the site not found DNS error. I even checked with just to make sure it wasn't just me and that website said it was down too. Now that it's back up I'm going to see if there is info on there to help me figure out how to use message filtering. |
Re: too many GPS icoms. WHY
开云体育How many times did you create another GPS port in your configuration? That includes re-running the configuration wizard and telling it to create another GPS connection.
Go to the menu choice File->Configuration->Expert-mode, then select the Ports tab. Each line in the displayed table corresponds to adding another port to your configuration. If a port is closed due to some error (e.g., unplugging a USB GPS puck),
you should fix the error for the existing port. Don't just create another port.
Since you have way too many, select one of the extra lines that does NOT correspond to your present GPS hookup and click the Delete button to remove that excess port from your configuration. Repeat until only ports corresponding to your actual
hardware, network, or software hookups (such as an AGWPE port to a Direwolf instance) remains.

Filtered message options
When using filtered messages is it possible to enter a call sign with SSID in the Filter by Addressee field? Some are auto filled but I can't figure out how to enter a dash manually. Also is the * symbol supposed to act like a wildcard? What about other wildcard characters? I can't make any of them work. |
next beta build#207 of YAAC, created 2025-Feb-01
next beta build #207 of YAAC ("Yet Another APRS Client"), created 2025-Feb-01
downloadable from changes and updates include: 1. add support for binary data files using little-endian ordering rather than big-endian (network) byte order. This is used by certain plugins. 2. add support for arbitrary data records with position information, so YAAC's core data analysis could work on data records provided by YAAC plugins. 3. clean up Maven build files to reduce warnings from new stricter build rules. 4. add the MSL to HAE translation to the TAK plugin, with a menu option for downloading the model file from the US Government website. 5. add TAK support for most meteorological condition CoT types (at least, the ones that have corresponding APRS symbols). Also support a few CoT Alarm types (with the option to suppress announcing the alarms if the Sounds plugin is installed), Map Marker types, and some "u-" types that draw polylines on the map. 6. fix bug in TAK plugin for supporting TAKservers with multiple levels of Certificate Authorities. 7. fix bug in TAK plugin for generating CoT equivalents of APRS position beacons for both GPS and fixed station positions. 8. fix time and position reporting in decoded CoT messages in TAK plugin so the messages will be displayed properly, and support non-standard formatting of the timestamp values. |
Re: Site Down?
开云体育Thank you. I forgot to re-sign the DNS records for the ka2ddo.org domain and the security signatures expired.
All fixed now (unless you have an obnoxious recursive resolver that insists on caching the failure for a while).

Re: Run YAAC in s screen in linux
Andrew
?
I just created a service file to launch YAAC.jar using the following ExecStart?
?
ExecStart=/usr/bin/screen -DmS test ?java -jar YAAC.jar -service
?
and ran the service file and it looks like it is working because the test file 16727.test is created? in /run/screen/S-pi.
?
I am out of my league now so I will leave this for your comment but it certainly looks like it can work.

?
I tried to run this in a terminal window
?
screen -DmS test /home/pi/YAAC "java -jar YAAC.jar" and I don't think anything happened when I check screen -ls, there is no test screen created,? I am? likely doing something wrong because I am a total newbie here.? What kind of printing to? standard output do you need?

Re: Run YAAC in s screen in linux
开云体育Easily. This is how I normally run YAAC, by launching a Terminal window on my desktop, then typing the command
java -jar YAAC.jar
at the command prompt. Of course, the environment of such Terminal windows includes the definition of the DISPLAY environment variable that identifies the graphical desktop the Terminal window is running on.
On the other hand, since I am developing changes to YAAC,? I want to see the error messages being printed to standard output in case there is a code bug?

?
That is exactly what I mean and the added flexibility is? very useful.? Andrew, I should mention that CumulusMX, like YAAC, starts in a terminal and then opens into the graphical interface.? Could YAAC also work like this?
