A useful alternative to mapping missing/fixing incorrect OSM data is by using the mobile app Streetcomplete [1]. It's currently only available for Android. It allows you to add missing OSM data (data to a high level of specificity, e.g. width of roads, tactile kerbs at pedestrian crossings, etc) while you walk. To have your edits accepted you still need an openstreetmap.org website account. I'm not affiliated with the creator, but I'm a big user of it for mapping local data. Hope that helps. 73s, Bernard/ei8fdb/m5fdb [1] On 31/07/2024 12:53, Andrew P. wrote:
Get an account on the openstreetmap.org website, then use the web-based map editors (I usually use iD) to correct existing entries or draw new ones. For example, I went around my neighborhood and plotted the location of every fire hydrant, and then used iD to add new Nodes for each fire hydrant at the appropriate coordinates with the attribute emergency=fire_hydrant. |
