Re: my X6100 test
Well, there's really no reason why a voltage that's well with the nominal
range of 13.8V, pre internal regulator reduction in rig would be
problematic at long as it's stable generall, so 11V isn't a

Re: my X6100 test
I agree on the 11 volts. I run my unit at 11.1 without any problems and it seems to run cooler.

Re: my X6100 test
Dropping the 6100's supply voltage down to 11V doesn't introduce any problems, I haven't done spectrum analysis for lower voltages.

Well, anything that increases the contrast, be it alt text & background
colours or software general contrast settings etc, always helps at some
level.

Re: Screen glare
The problem with screen protectors, Brian, is they are polarised - so no
problems with high contrast displays when you view them without any
polarised or darken photochromatic lenses.
If you know

Re: Screen glare
Is the issue glare (light reflecting off the screen) or the screen is just
not bright enough in bright ambient lighting conditions?
If it's the latter, Christopher's suggestion of a hood sounds good

Actually it's only fairly recent laptops which automatically or by user
settings, constrain charging of the battery to nn% of full to 'preserve the
battery life'. Many out there don't.

Hi Lukas,
Laptops usually use protection that maintains a charge of 80% because having large-capacity batteries, the possible need to bring them to full charge starting from a lower level would lead

My point was, irrespective of how low a voltage a radio of any kind can be
powered by, there are consequences you have to accept and compensate for,
and just because a radio can accept a voltage and

Christopher,
I do not see any problems with reducing the power supply voltage to 9,6V, since the radio was designed for a battery power supply range of 6,6V to 8,4V and the external supply range is

While talking about, then, reduced voltage operation, there's a matter of
