Re: Total NOOB question
My first 6100 went back for s battery issue. The second worked a little better, but I would not call it stable for any mode of operation. I tried?R1CBU's firmware and love it. Easier to use, all the info in one place (SWR, ALC, ETC.). Id recommend giving it a try. It made a somewhat worthless radio, IMO, to a stable QRP radio.

Re: Total NOOB question
开云体育If you run on battery max output is 5w, if you use a powerbank you can get up to max 10w ? I use a vertical on a mag-mount for mobile from the car like this , quick to set up and break down ? I use win10 laptop with latest version WSJT-x running the X6100 direct, no FLRig etc in between and it works well ? One thing to note is although the X6100 has a USB C connector a USB C to C don’t appear to work, ? If you run 10w some cooling is recommended , search this forum there are plenty of images of various solutions, it runs cooler at 10w if you only feed it 10.5 -11.0v (even at reduced voltage it still outputs 10w) ? Hope this helps ? Peter M0PWX ? ? From: Terry Hunt via groups.io ? I just picked up an x6100 for Christmas during the Black Friday sales. ?I plan to use this for portable ops in a park and when camping with my RV for both Digital and SSB operations. ?It appears to have come with the latest firmware preloaded. ?My question is, after looking around I see a couple different options for OS and firmware, what would the more seasoned veterans of the x6100 recommend for an initial setup? ? Thanks Terry |

can you please tell me if running your firmware on a smaller SD cardYes, the size of the SD card is limited only by the size of the image. Now the image is 1GB, so you can orientation on it size as minimal. |

I use the GPS dongle and it works well with the R1CBU version 0.19.0 to set time and location. The only problem, which is not a problem for me, is the presence of the USB device disables the screen keyboard. Version 0.19.0 sees the usb port is being used and acts as if an external keyboard is plugged in.

While I’m not saying that I won’t buy the new model, it’s sort of a suckers bet for those of us that do. We’ve all seen what Xiegu is all about and we have no reason to trust them at this point. I’ve used my X6100 like crazy and it works for the most part but it’s still not the radio that the specs call out.? Curt |
Re: Waiting For the Possible New X6200 Product?
From what I’ve seen of the X6200, I already want one…. And I’ll buy one… Right after Xiegu gets around to fixing the things on my X6100 (like Bluetooth audio) that they’ve been promising since they announced “it’s” introduction.? And NOT even one moment sooner. On Sat, Dec 9, 2023 at 07:41 Randy K7RAN <k7ran@...> wrote: I’m just hoping that R1CBU can help us with network’d remote operation on the X6100. 开云体育I use the website? time.is, link ? I find now and again even though setting time by telling NTP to sync (it is windowz) if its within a minute it won’t update ? Solution set time more than 5 minutes out, leave it a minute then tell it to set automatically and it will bring it back into sync ? Peter M0PWX ? ? ? Update to decode issue:? Checking the time against the atomic clock and it was correct.? However, I went ahead and "set the time" and it cleared whatever the timing issue was.? I hooked up WSJT-X and Operated the default 20m FT8 and then when I changed the Freq on WSJT-x, the radio didn't follow.? I manually change the band using the buttons to 10m.? ?FT8 decode and R!CBU V.19 Tracked correctly with WSJT-x so there is no problem.?? _._,_._,_ |
