I had the same problem with my x6100 after an upgrade. I charged it, run it down to dead 4 times and that seemed to have fixed it. I now have a full battery charge showing when charged.?

Thanks for all the info from everyone.
Several items to note:
1. Discharge to shut off is about 2 hours.
2. Charging source is 13v 25A PS . (Anderson Power Pole connection)
3. MicroSD is "Micro Center" Class 10 (was brand new)
4. As for Firmware, I followed instructions included with Firmware Pack and did the Base Band.
I can try again. but the firmware shown in attached picture looks to be the most current.
Could someone compare with what is running on their x6100?
5. I am currently recharging with OEM Charger and will retest.

Again, I am not seeing the light EVER in the solid on state, always blinking here.

Thanks Dave but not necessary.? It operates fine, its just that pesky Icon and blinking light.??
Update, I did another Firmware update, same results, no change.
Charging with OEM wall wart same results.??
I'm going to see about sending it back.

Re: EMPTY RED Battery icon after charge.

George N2GWK,

On another thought, use your X6100 with the int battery and see how long it last on the full charge.? I see about 2 hours of operation, 90% rcv.? If your X6100 runs this long I would think the internal battery is being charged correctly.

I use an ext 13V battery with my X6100, wait for the LED to stop blinking and then charge for another 2 hours.? Then the int battery voltage reads 8.2, but drops quickly to 7.9V when in use.

Re: x6100 antenna mount

That may work.? I thought of using the end cap screws or replacing them with longer screws to attach a mount but I think they’re too small and wouldn’t hold up under normal use.? Probably the best option is a friend with a 3D printer.

Lisa, I think you are right about the lack of the ground lug making it more difficult.? It may be possible to fabricate or 3D print something that clips around the end of the radio and can support the weight of an antenna.? That design work is outside of my abilities, though.
