Good morning,
to support Hans in his demonstration, I wolud like to ask to enable / add the number 222 (Bernhard) in the Telebahn DNS. The hostname (bitmint) name resolution is checked and working since some time now. The cisco will start to work later today or early tomorrow. Appreciate your help and wish you a great day. Is there a particularly cheap model of Cisco that's available for XOT?? What version of IOS is best? Cisco 25xx, 18xx, 26xx, 28xx will all do and can be had for cheap.? If you plan on connecting actual X.25 gear, you'll also need the right cables.? 25xx needs CAB-232FC, newer models typically need CAB-SS-232FC for V.24. I don't know the V.35 and X.21 cable names right now, but if you get them, you need the DCE variant as well. If all you want to do is xot, you can also compile on a modern machine and use?that to?connect to TELEBAHN nodes. -Hans |
Re: Question about connecting from Cisco/Sparcstation
Not familiar with RS-530, but I've successfully connected a SPARCstation 10 to a Cisco using a CAB-232FC (the older version, not the SS version) - you may need the DCE version for the Cisco (I assume CAB-SS-530-xC) as I imagine the SPARCstation will be DTE. I swear I finally got to understanding this when setting it up, but have now forgotten :-)

Re: Question about connecting from Cisco/Sparcstation
开云体育On that note, it seems that (at least on the IOS that I'm running
on 471) you sometimes need to disassociate and then re-associate
the XOT profile for changes to take effect... i.e. every time I
try new parameters I have to do "no xot access-group 10"; "xot
access-group 10 profile TELEBAHN". On 2023-12-16 21:43, Mantas Mikul?nas

开云体育For what it's worth, I've just been trying to figure out why it *didn't* work the last time – previously I had
for interop with Hans' SunLink (which refuses calls otherwise as it isn't configured to accept anything above 7), but right now I've reverted to the "original"
It's really not clear to me how the facility negotiation works... On 2023-12-16 21:40, Christopher Collet
