I am not familiar with this HF SSB Yaesu rig but check this way. Do a FLDIGI TUNE (that¡¯s a steady sine wave) on 500 Hz, then 1000 Hz, then 1500 Hz and stop at 2000 Hz, and report to us the power

I am the net manager of two NBEMS nets, one on 80m (PaNBEMS) and one on 40m (MidAtlantic NBEMS). Both nets meet Sunday mornings: PA at 7:30 AM Eastern and MidAtl at 10 AM Conditions are usually stable

True, This is some of the reason wsjtx uses rig split or fake it. If you want to keep audio constant vary the vfo rather than the program pan point (audio freq). 73 vk4tux

It sounds to me like your radio audio circuits do not have a flat response. For best function, the radio should reproduce audio levels equally across the spectrum, not suppress or enhance different
