Re: Flrig - reorder the list of modes? (FT-991)

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

Kevin,

Have a look at the source code. It looks like several lists would need to reordered and maybe other code changed to reorder the list successfully. Have a go at it and see what you can do.

Re: Fouled up Fldigi - Flamp communication under Windows

Thanks, all!? I tried the alpha version that Robert suggested and everything is working again.? Thanks to everyone!!!? I'm a bit mystified as to what happened, to be honest.? I could have sworn it was working fine before I fat-fingered things.? But maybe I upgraded Flamp but didn't use it right away, and discovered the problem later?? At any rate, some lessons learned:
?
- the winfldigi.groups.io group is a great resource!
- if things aren't working, add reverting to the list of things to try
- when upgrading, always try the new version afterward
?
I'm going to mention them to our next ARES/RACES Fldigi and friends Sunday practice net.? BTW I'm the RACES officer and assistant ARES officer in Howard County MD.? We have adopted Fldigi/Flmsg/Flamp as our primary method to exchange complex data when we do drills.? In our last few Fire Station alerting drills (where we practice sending dispatch messages in case our electronic dispatch system goes down) we've demonstrated about 10X speed increase over passing data by voice, and of course we can also pass pictures too.? BTW in that regard, Google's Squoosh tool is a terrific, easy to use image conversion/compression tool.? One of the great features of Fldigi is that it passes through our repeaters at the full 8PSK1200F rate, with no problems.
?
We also use Winlink radio email with VARA FM because other ARES jurisdictions around us like it, and it has its advantages but it also has some serious disadvantages.? I prefer Fldigi when we don't have to interoperate.
?
And of course, thanks to Dave W1HKJ the inspiration behind it all!

Jay,

Be sure the 7300 is in USB-D mode in fldigi. If using hamlib for rig control it shows as PKTUSB I believe it is.

Check the Tx Attenuator setting, bottom row right side below the waterfall. Default is -12, but depending on the volume set in the Windows mixer it often needs to be a smaller number.?

I use the same setup for my IC 7100 and IC 705. The above program should work with the IC 7300.

Re: IC-7300 keys but no power out

The 7300 needs to be in USB-D in order to receive audio from the computer.
USB-D will work fine with all software.

?
Worked before so it had to be something different. Worked perfectly before so what was different. Would not be able to receive and decode if not in USB-D. Would not be able to key transmit if not in USB-D. The one thing that was different was it was in USB. It needed to be, in addition to 50 other settings, in PKTUSB. THEN it worked as before. It is working now.

But hey, thank you!

There is on here somewhere a step-by-step set-up for the IC-7300 for digital. What version of fldigi are you using? The very last thing that needs to be selected on fldigi is PKTUSB. Even if all other settings are correct and this last setting is USB it will not put out power! It will key the transmitter but no power out.

Ah, this probably explains my problem!
I have no Tx on my QMX with FLDIGI. I have been struggling to understand how PTT is implemented in the QMX. WSJT-X works fine so I was thinking it was FLDIGI, but now see it looks like an incompatibility between the two. Maybe I¡¯ll try an earlier version that to see which one does work.

And the wording in the manual is really funky...they do say you get 3 reading but the format they only show 1 reading.

It should be

And P1 is always 0

Re: FLRIG 2.0.04 + TS590SG, Meters Display no SWR or ALC

Hi David, congratulations on your nuptials! I am happy to hear this wonderful news.

What I was saying with "three readings at once" was that the radio responds to an RM; command with a 24 character string containing responses for all three meter reading.

image.png
So you get SWR, COMP, and ALC with a single RM; command.

I found a where Filip added some code to handle this for the S and SG as well.

Enjoy your honeymoon, and merging two houses. My fiancee and I are also in that process of consolidating and it is no fun at all. Several truckloads to the thrift shop and a couple of dumpsters and there is still no end in sight hi hi.
