FLdigi macro for a METAR report
I use the fldigi macros to send airport weather reports all the time. Adding "<WX:KBOI>" to a macro for instance will retrieve the local airport weather for Boise, ID as long as your computer is inline. I'm looking to do the same with a METAR report. Pilots use?METAR reports rather than local weather reports for their information.
I tried <METAR:KBOI> on the chance something was already written into the program but no luck? Any way to create a macro so fldigi retrieves a METAR report. If you've already done it I'd like to see what you came up with. tnx...Mike |

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýTom,I take it you upgraded from an older version. It sounds to me like something in the config files is out of whack. Try this: ?Go to the C:\Users\<loginname>\fldigi.files directory and rename the fldigi.prefs file to fldigi.prefs1. Now start fldigi. Hopefully it will come up normally. If not then you'll have to rename the fldigi_def.xml file the same way as the prefs file. Fldigi should now definitely come up, but as if it was a new install. You'll still have macros, logs etc., but the configuration will have to be resetup.? 73, Cliff, AE5ZA

Install Problem
I downloaded version 4.1.23 on my Windows 11 desktop and executed the set-up file. Everything seemed to work OK.? The ICONs appear on the desktop, etc. However, when I click on the fldigi Icon the program appears to open. The usual screen shows for about a second and then the program immediately shuts down!! Help Please!! 73 de Tom KD6TR |

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýKarl,What transceiver do you have that won't work with later fldigi versions? Is the issue rig control or fldigi functions? Do you have 2 different configuration directories for your two radios on the same machine? If so on the one for 4.1.23 go to it's directory and rename the fldigi.prefs and fldigi_def.xml files by adding a 1 to the name. Now get fldigi version 4.1.23.24 from ?and install that. Use that for the transceiver that would only work on 4.1.23 and see if it works with a new config. You will have to set it up again, but with just a basic setup you should be able to tell if it will work. I would be very surprised if it wouldn't work. 73, Cliff, AE5ZA

Re: NO TX!
This is only a guess but windows updates seem to have a negative effect on some programs. I also guess the windows OS in china machines may be different as well. But the updates are not only intrusive and annoying but may affect some aspects.
I have a receiver that works flawlessly through fldigi on both 1.4.23 and 1.4.23.19 but a tranceiver that will work ONLY on 1.4.23 version of fldigi. |

NO TX!
Hello, I have the following problem with FLDigi When I start FLdigi I start it with the bridge for DXLab to let the cat control and logging go through DXLabs. This worked perfectly until the last few weeks now I have a problem with that. And this is if I click on the auto CQ macro FLdigi does not go into TX. First I have to click T/R at the bottom right of FLdigi so that FLdigi goes into tx. when I click on F1 again fldigi goes into tx. if I go to the Hell mode, for example, the F1 key does not work again, if I click T/R again, it works again. this is in the macro. <TX> CQ CQ de <MYCALL> <MYCALL> <MYCALL> CQ CQ de <MYCALL> <MYCALL> <MYCALL> kn<RX> <AFTER:10> That has always worked. Maybe someone can help me with this. I've also reinstalled Fldigi to no avail. Thanks Rien, PA7RA
