FLdigi macro for a METAR report

I use the fldigi macros to send airport weather reports all the time. Adding "<WX:KBOI>" to a macro for instance will retrieve the local airport weather for Boise, ID as long as your computer is inline. I'm looking to do the same with a METAR report. Pilots use?METAR reports rather than local weather reports for their information.
I tried <METAR:KBOI> on the chance something was already written into the program but no luck?
Any way to create a macro so fldigi retrieves a METAR report. If you've already done it I'd like to see what you came up with.
tnx...Mike

Tom,

I take it you upgraded from an older version. It sounds to me like something in the config files is out of whack.

Try this: ?Go to the C:\Users\<loginname>\fldigi.files directory and rename the fldigi.prefs file to fldigi.prefs1. Now start fldigi. Hopefully it will come up normally. If not then you'll have to rename the fldigi_def.xml file the same way as the prefs file. Fldigi should now definitely come up, but as if it was a new install. You'll still have macros, logs etc., but the configuration will have to be resetup.?

Karl,

What transceiver do you have that won't work with later fldigi versions?

Is the issue rig control or fldigi functions?

Do you have 2 different configuration directories for your two radios on the same machine?

If so on the one for 4.1.23 go to it's directory and rename the fldigi.prefs and fldigi_def.xml files by adding a 1 to the name. Now get fldigi version 4.1.23.24 from ?and install that. Use that for the transceiver that would only work on 4.1.23 and see if it works with a new config. You will have to set it up again, but with just a basic setup you should be able to tell if it will work. I would be very surprised if it wouldn't work.
