Re: waterfall pallette files

Dave - thanks for the info. When I played around, I just got curious
by the .pal extension and thought just to try it - why I got to this
result which pleased me. And why not keep something which has proven
to be practical? No need to invent the wheel again and again.
The present fldigi runs very smooth and absolutely stable on my W-XP
setup, and once used to the buttons at different locations it takes
the place of mixw more frequently. There is of course the one or
other mode which I like to try or use, e.g. bpsk at speeds not
incorporated or Amtor-FEC but it costs nothing to quit and change
over.

The palette files were designed to be compatible with DigiPan. It

RigCAT xml file for FT-2000

jvilardo2000

I just up loaded an xml file that will give you CAT control of the FT-
2000. I made some slight modifications to the FT-950 file to create
the FT-2000 file. I have it working with my FT-2000D with no
problems. You will need to edit the file for your COM port preference,
the file as is has it set to COM3.
Remember to set MENU items in the FT-2000: 027 to 4800, 028 to 100, 029
to on.

Re: FT2000D rig.xml file

Hi Dave,
these news made my day as I was not successful in fiddling around with
the xml file. Really annoying that Yaesu could not follow a coherent
CAT system for their rigs. Never mind, you will solve my problems.
Thanks in advance.

FT2000D rig.xml file

jvilardo2000

Just installed FIDIGI on an xp machine but I am having a problem
getting CAT control to work. Has anyone had any sucess in writing a
rig.xml file for the FT2000? I saw the format for writting one in the
file sections of this reflector but thought I would ask if it allready
exists before trying to write one. I am not a programer and it could
be an overwhelming expierence for me.

logging

I have just started with Win-Fldigi software and having a hard time
figuring out how to log my contacts. I have Wxlogbook downloaded but
unable to figure out how to get this logbook to accept my qso
information in Win-Fldigi when we click save in Win-Fldigi.
My main goal is to get all of my qso information from Win-Fldigi to my
main logger which is DXKeeper. Maybe I do not even need to use
Wxlogbook but maybe there is a way to use a DDE for direct transfer
from Win-Fldigi to DXKeeper ? Any help will be appreciated.

Re: 850 cat

Hi Steve

Forgive me if I missed anything, and am going over stuff of which you
are already aware.

Using Rigcat should work fine you take the ts850.xml file, edit it,
and save it in your fldigi.files folder (directory) as rig.xml.

When using that TS850 or rig.xml file you can opt for rts/cts
handshaking, but if you do you can't then select rts for ptt as well.

If your TS850 cat plug has pins 4&5 handshaking linked together then
you don't need to select it as true in the rig.xml file, and can
specify rts for ptt.

There is no reason why the current open release should not recognise
your rig.xml file though. If the com port syntax is changed to com6
instead of the default Linux format, and the baud rate / stop bits
match, then probably the only thing which would stop the cat
functioning is the handshaking. Generically a lot of users of the
Kenwoods link pins 4 and 5 together on the 6 pin cat plug to give
permanent hard wire handshaking anyhow.

Well, that's my two penneth anyhow Steve :-). I hope it helps.

I have tried the hamlib selection, and it displays the 850, I change
port and data rate, initialize, and still no frequency display. The
audio portion works fine.
If I select the rig cat, and edit the 850 html file that is available,
It only shows the comment to select an html file, it does not open a

I'll wait and see. Thanks again.

Re: Can't get ts-850 configured for cat

Without knowing more specifics of your system I would not know how to
advise you. Have you tried the Hamlib tab. There are some changes in
the works for Fldigi with rig control that are still in alpha so if
you don't get it working you may have to wait for 3.04 release.

Dave,

Yes, I have sent off an email this evening asking about 64 bit
drivers. I haven't reloaded mixw yet but I have tried it with
DM780/HRD with the same results. I will try to load mixw and see if
that anwers any questions.

Thanks for the help and the file!

Hi Jim

Yes, but I can't remember where I saw the article. Certainly worth
checking out with the agent for sure. I assume you have already
tried using it with MixW on the same system. MixW version 2.18
automatically installs the rigexpert so you would soon find out
if there were a problem.

In general guys have had problems installing some software(s)
with Vista, and I have a pdf file on it which I will place in the
win-fldigi files area. In fact there will be a message and link
following this mail.

Worth checking out these various options anyhow Jim.

Hello all.

I have been using fldigi on an XP operating system with no
problems.
I recently upgraded to a new pc running Windows Vista Home Premium
with a 64 bit operating system. I have installed the latest v3.03
for Vista operting system (fldigi-3.03-winV.zip).

Everything runs fine for 5 to 10 minutess and then fldigi locks
up.
The waterfall stops, and some of the funtion keys work. For
examaple
it I select TX it will go into TX mode but it will take several
seconds before the function actually changes. You can never get
it
back to RX. With Hamlib Controller you can change to a stored
frequency but the frequency display is incorrect on the
controller.

Here are the specs on the new pc if it helps.

Model: HP Pavillion dv7 Notebook PC
Processor: AMD Turuion X@ Dual_Core Mobile RM-70 2 GHz
Memory (RAM): 4.00 GB
System type: 64-bit Operating System

I am using a RigExpert Plus USB interface which I have downloaded
and
installed the latest drivers. I have downloaded and installed
Service Pack 1 for the Vista operating system. So I'm pretty sure
I've got evertything up to date and the radios are an IC-703 and
FT-
1000MP.

Has anyone else had this or a similar problem? Any suggestions
would
be appreciated as the old XP system has bit the dust and I'm
exclusively on the new PC.

Thanks and 73,
