Re: Unable to transmit with Yaesu FT-991

Perhaps you have had success by now thanks to the various posts. I must ask, do you "autostart" flrig from fldigi? If yes, confirm that the path in the flrig autostart field is exactly correct in the W10 machine. I've experienced a faceplant before because part of the pathname in one of my machines is ". . . user/users. . . " and in the other it's ". . .user/user1. . . ". Cutting and pasting was not my friend that day!
?
Regarding "both rigs", search the phrase "multiple installs" in the search bar above and look for Dave's post # 37827. This leads us into the topic of creating unique config directories for flrig and fldigi in support of multiple rigs.

Re: Unable to transmit with Yaesu FT-991

I have helped many who have exactly this problem...maybe this is not what you meant...earlier installs and removing of fl_suite contributes to eventual complications.
For this reason, I always recommend the portable install, at least at first. I use it all the time. If the portable install goes OK, then you should be good to use the full install.
YMMV. This is just my experience.

Hi. Given our friend's n8vlc ?problems with his two computers, I got my icom7700 to work on my second computer.
It only took me 10 minutes.
I created a specific instance. Entered the parameters. And OK.
So, with this, it's possible that the other PC, even with the same specifications and many other previous configurations, may be causing hardware conflicts.

This is everything I can think of if you have isolated the problem to one of the computers:
?
  1. Sound card selection correct in software, or re-select it even if correct
  2. Windows routing audio to the correct sound card
  3. Sound card not muted in Windows
  4. TX audio level high enough (DT + Windows Playback + software power control + Signalink TX if used + volume control if using computer audio output)
  5. Correct mode selected for VFO A
  6. Correct mode selected for VFO B if operating split
  7. Correct rig selected in software, flrig selected if used
  8. Software and rig baud rates match

I think my next step is to uninstall everything and give it another go. With the ease I was able to set it up on my W11 laptop (knowing everything I know now), I'm hoping it will go as smoothly. We'll see.
?
I want to use my W11 computer for my FT-891 portable operations. Can I have both rigs set up in the same computer or does FLDIGI only allow for one at a time?

Re: Unable to transmit with Yaesu FT-991

I have the same kind of problem. Two PCs running Windows 10. With FT991a, it worked, then one day it didn't.

However, I can't do PSK31.
And on an Icom 7700, I can't get it to work, except for the tone.

Still no luck. I went back and checked the settings in both my Windows 10 and Windows 11 laptops for FLDIGI and FLRIG and they are identical. When I set up the Windows 11 computer, I had FLDIGI up and running immediately with little work. To be sure all was working today, I made another contact (BPSK31) with perfect decoding. I switched over to my Windows 10 laptop, rechecked all my settings according to the Wiki FT-991A how-to, tried to answer a CQ and nothing. Since it works on my Windows 11 laptop, I have to assume it's my Windows 10 laptop and not the radio settings. I am completely stumped at this point.

FSK setup on IC-705

I've been unable to figure it out and don't know if I should post on the Icom group instead. I've tried? fldigi with and without flrig.
I set the Icom for FSK RTTY on DTR of the USB comm port and set the rig to RTTY mode. Nothing happened
It works fine in USB-D mode AFSK but I lose the rig's RTTY decoding option that way.
Ideas appreciated.

Unable to transmit with Yaesu FT-991

I have been trying to get FLDIGI to transmit all week and decided to troubleshoot a bit. I recently got a small laptop with Windows 11, did the FLDIGI and FLRIG install and had it working right away. I am able to decode and transmit perfectly on it because I just had my first QSO, so I know it's not my radio settings. There is something in my Windows 10 computer that isn't allowing me to transmit and I can't figure it out. The settings on both computers are equal as far as I know.
?
My speaker volume is set at 100%
Mic volume is adjusted as needed to keep the green monitor at the bottom of the screen at -20.
Numbers next to the waterfall button are 0 and 60.
My rig is connected with a USB cord for control.
I am working in DATA-U mode
?
Any ideas?

Re: Anyone able to get ICOM IC-707 Transmit working?

Ok, I'll look into the vox approach.

But here was my thinking with trying to get fldigi to work "natively", since I can indeed get fldigi to trigger the transceiver?to transmit by manually toggling the?Hamlib "RTS/CTS flow control" and "RTS +12" settings, then I know that fldigi is able to "talk to" the transceiver?and get it to transmit.
The only problem with manually toggling?the Hamlib "RTS/CTS flow control" and "RTS +12" settings is that the transceiver?stays transmitting until I uncheck the settings.

So, I'm thinking that some sort of fldigi configuration may still be a possible solution...I'm just?don't have enough fldigi debug experience to figure it out.

BTW, is there anyone out there that DOES have deep fldigi debug experience that would be willing to help me on this over a call or video meeting?
I would be happy to pay an hourly rate for anyone's time on this...perhaps venmo...if anyone is interested, let me know.

Thanks,

John
