Re: Call being worked Lookup between Fldigi and Log4OM2

Fernando,
?
I am successful with getting fldigi to send to the log on Log4OM2. following the information from you.
?
The function I am trying to replicate is the call lookup done at the beginning stage of a QSO.? Bothe DXLab & Aclog are able to make that look up.
?
When I asked on the Log4OM forum, I received this response.....You must have missed the note in our instructions that says with Fldigi it's one way traffic, we can send to Fldigi not other way round.
?
I am trying to find what method fldigi is getting that information to the two logging programs that the call lookup works on, so I can replicate it in Log4OM2.??
?
If it truly is one way, then the other two logging programs are mining the information, and that's ok too if I can find the link.
?
Again, all logging works perfect on Log4OM2.? Just trying to get the
entered call sign in FLDigi to be displayed and looked up in Log4OM.

Re: OFDM750F issue

For those who have tried the OFDM modes, please note:
  1. designed to operate at a fixed audio center frequency
  2. DCD off not implemented, basically runs without squelch
  3. not suitable for HF communications

Hi Bill,
?
If you'll allow me, I suggest you ask this same question on the Log4OM forum. Since it works as desired in ACLOG and not in Log4OM, I imagine it is something on Log4om's part.
?
Even though I am a user of log4OM, I cannot answer you. Have you tried the manual?
?
I can automatically save (only save) a qso made in FLDigi through the UDP configuration described in the Log4OM manual.

Call being worked Lookup between Fldigi and Log4OM2

I am trying to find out how to have a call sign entered in Fldigi get looked up in Log4OM2 so as to see if it was worked before.
?
I have been unsuccessful in finding any information.
?
When Fldigi is connected with the bridge to DX Labs, any call sign entered in Fldigi is immediately looked up in Pathfinder, DxView and Dx Keeper.
?
When Fldigi is connected to N3FJP [ACLOG] any call sign entered in Fldigi is immediately looked up in ACLOG.
?
Does anyone have any idea what that connection is?? I would like to replicate it in Log4OM2 so I can have the call information,
?
Thank you in advance for any ideas.

Re: OFDM750F issue

There's definitely something not right with the way OFDM modes function in fldigi.? When I set fldigi to OFDM3500 centered at 1625 and send a message the station on the receiving end sees only gibberish text. This is using a 2 meter simplex freq. The sending and receiving stations can hear each others transmissions over the radio loud and clear.?
?
When I try to change the center to 1375 the dashed lines in the waterfall do not move accordingly. And, the only way to change the center is to hover over the box and use the mouse wheel to change between 1375 and 1625. The arrows do not function.?

Re: OFDM750F issue

A further look indicates both OFDM500 and OFDM750 have this issue while OFDM3500 behaves correctly. On the initial modem switch squelch is operating correctly and as you decrease squelch level to below the noise level the series of random characters gets displayed. Increasing the squelch level to above noise level doesn't stop the random characters. Seems some code is missing for these modems that stop character display on a change to the squelch value.

Robert

Re: OFDM750F issue

Looks like the squelch does not have the desired effect with this modem. Dropping the squelch value for OFDM3500 has the same effect.

OFDM750F issue

When selecting Mode OFDM750F I get a non-stop run of text characters across the screen that do not stop unless I select a different mode (such as OFDM500F or OFDM3500).?
?
Why is this and is there a way to make it stop?
?
Thanks.

Re: Strange problem FLDIGI

I have to echo the above suspicions about RFI. Program crashing plus the transceiver locked in transmit sounds very RFI-Like. In addition to the suggestions about grounding and using ferrites, I have had success in reducing RFI by reducing power output and physically spacing my computer farther away from the antenna & transceiver.?
?
Even if distancing components farther apart doesn't work with your setup, it could be helpful temporarily for troubleshooting.?

Make sure each piece of station equipment is bonded to a single common point. This includes the station computer as well.

I make my bonding jumpers using #10 AWG auto primary wire with a ring terminal properly fitted on each end. The insulated conductor prevents accidental shorts or contact with other pieces of equipment. I don't use toroid's on any cables.

Regarding a new installation, I always scan my computer using CCleaner (free version), specifically the Register, to remove any left over file fragments and junk files.

Start looking for RFI. By some Toroids?and place them on everything. It was my cure to strange effects going on on my computer with certain programs.

Subject [winfldigi] Strange problem FLDIGI

Strange problem,

I have re-equipped my computer with fldigi, but now a strange problem occurs,
when I start transmitting my fldigi screen disappears and it stays on transmitting.
I have never had this before,
other programs work just fine like HRD, WJSTX and some others.
It worked but after a new installation this occurs..
Who can give me the solution.

Re: Strange problem FLDIGI

Good evening PD1ANB,

If you had a previous installation of a (somewhat) older FLdigi version, it might be a configuration incompatibility issue. Many new features have been added over the years and an old config file still present on your PC may not be functional any more.

You can do the following quite quickly to evaluate this problem using a 'fresh' independent installation from scratch:

Re-install the latest FLdigi version into a new folder that you call 'FL_APPS'. Exactly this name, including the underscore '_' (but not the apostrophes shown here).

Example: C:\DX\Test\FL_APPS

When launching FLdigi from within this fiolder, it will behave as if there was no previous installation and place all specific user files in a sub-folder below FL_APPS (this 'independence' may not be the case for macros, though).

You'll therefore have to set all relevant preferences again (especially regarding your soundcard and major rig communication definitions) to be able to try it out.

If this installation works correctly (which I'd assume it will) and the other one still doesn't, you'll probably have to find the old (now incompatible) config files, best via Menu - File - Folders - Fldigi Config... and remove them from there to let the latest FLdigi version set correct defaults again. It may be wise to move them to some backup location as a first step in case you need to look up certain previous settings later.

I attach a few hints on this and other topics posted earlier, hoping some of these may be of help.

Good luck and please let us know whether (and if so, how) you have made progress, once you're there...

FLRig Power meter

?
An excellent day for everyone.
I kindly ask you to see the attached images. The indicated Power~encia of 20 W in the FLRig is ok and is the same in the Radio - TS-990, but the bargraph sampling is very different. using a 50W scale mosytra a much higher avlor, showing the 200W scale shows the image shows a lower value, but I repeat the 20W value we see in the FLRig is right with the indication that is on the radio.
Can you help me to try to solve the situation? Thank you very much.

Re: Icons/ emojis in FLDigi MFSK transmissions

If you want that kind of operational display asking FLTK developers for the feature. FLDIGI developers can modify another variant of the FLTK UI elements, but this introduces divergent issues down the road. Not necessarily a good thing. I don't think it's a needed option, but then again personal preferences.

Why would you want fldigi to be an HF/VHF cell phone?

FlRig + Kenwood TS-990

Colleagues I would like to receive from you some feedback on FLRig + TS990.
?
1- I can't get an indication of the SWR value, even though it's a value that is purposely high due to antenna change .
?
2 - I can only have the PWR power reading if I click on the PTT button on the FLRIg itself, because if you do it on the ptt of the radio there is no indication. I understand, but I think that by clicking on FLRIG to do PTT, the results should be the same as if I did it only on the radio. If there were a possibility of the reading appearing regardless of where the command to put the radio in TX may come from, it would be very good, what do you think?
?
3 - I'm sorry that using my radio some "Extra Tabs" don't appear, I just have: "Misc" + "A" + "B" + "C". I'm sorry to miss the Bands Tab and others. Couldn't this situation also be contemplated in the TS 990 at leaast those more usual?
?
I apologize for any inconvenience on my part with this request, at the same time if any colleague using FLRig + TS-990 has overcome this difficulty, I would like to comment.
Thank you for your attention
