In Windows 10 and 11, this presents as Windows not allowing fldigi to use the "mic", which is what fldigi uses "in kind" when it opens an audio stream for transmission...this is what I have observed /many times/, but I'm not a Windows expert. In my cases with Windows, with no mic permission, there is no PTT. I use several different W10 and W11 computers with SignaLink and digirig, and in all cases where mic permission is not given, there is no PTT.
I agree we need more specific statements about just what is observed and what is failing. Even though I have mentioned this, I am not convinced this is the problem; I mentioned it because it is easy to check (in Windows, anyway).

Can you please verify the symptoms you are reporting.? "Radio transmitter not being keyed," implies that the issue is with PTT.
The other individual who responded was talking about mic permissions. An audio path problem would have symptoms of the radio going into transmit (PTT works) but there would be no modulation and no power output from the transmitter.
So it is essential to understand are we debugging a CAT/PTT pipeline (and possibly serial port issue), or are we debugging an audio pipeline issue?? Tinkering with the wrong pipeline won't help, and could make things worse.
I have noticed in recent versions of fldigi and flrig that sometimes fldigi shows TX as active and appears to be sending data, but the radio never goes into TX.? Often times if I cancel the transmit and retry, the TX works correctly.
I am not sure if those issues are a symptoms of failed TCP/IP network comms between fldigi and flrig, or if the problem is between flrig and my transceiver.
I have confirmed with other users that they are experiencing the same sporadic "fldigi shows it is transmitting but the radio isn't in TX mode" that can usually be workded around by retrying the transmission.
Please confirm with us which pipeline is having the issue (CAT/PTT vs Audio), and if you are having a PTT issue, let us know if it works intermittently or after a retry or whether it is failing all the time.

Not a Mac guy, but Windows has changed its permissions, and I think Mac has, too. I need to make sure that apps have the permission to use the mic before I start fldigi. Maybe so w Mac OS, too?

Good question.. I'm trying to figure it out by using the "Send command" in the configuration screen. it has the "ICOM Pre" and "ICOM Post"?
which are set as "xFE xFE x94 xE0" and "xFD " - so i'm trying to send "xFE xFE x94 xE0 x27 x1C x01 xFD" and "xFE xFE x94 xE0 x27 x1C x02 xFD" which should switch between Center and Fixed?

I usually press the <CENT/FIX> button on the screen while I am doing CW to see where others are having QSOs on the band I am on - then once I scroll near the frequency, I press the <CENT/FIX> again to see the frequencies closer... THAT is the function I am trying to imitate.

CW & RTTY with legacy rig ICOM IC720A
Please give me a hint, if I think the right way:
IC 720A has a classic PTT-input (a switch at the mike) and a morse key input. It supports VOX.
Here are my thoughts, how to connect them:
For RTTY:
- using the soundcard is simple and already working.
- how do I manage the PTT?

Why not use the ?VOX“-function, that switch the tx on, when there is a signal from the?soundcard??
Will that be working?
But for CW:
- sound RX already working fine.
- how is the keying done? Does fldigi use? "1000 Hz on right soundcard output“ ?for CW-Keying?
? ?Is the 1000Hz-signal the signal for morse output?
? ?
PTT looks quite similar to my morse key interface. When I use ?VOX“ in CW-MODE the IC720 switches?
to ?send“. I just hit the key and transmittion starts.

Félicitations, ja n'avais même pas pensé à un problème tellement simple.
Au lieu d'utiliser des macros (ou en plus), les touches Ctrl+T (Transmit) et Ctrl+R (Receive) te donnent le contr?le direct aux opérations facilement.
On peut toujours abandonner une émission en appuyant sur échappe (Esc).
D'ailleurs, quand tu places les caractères ^r à la fin du'une entrée de texte dans le fenêtre TX, ton poste retournera vers réception au moment que ce code est atteint, c'est à dire, quand le texte avant a déjà été émis.

En data-ssb ptt ok mais pas de puissance, donc pas de tune. En ssb pas de PTt. J’ai essayé ? rigcat ? en téléchargeant le fichier pour le ft991a. Et ? hamlib ?. Même finalité.
Dans les paramètres du poste, le data est bien sur USB. Le poste fonctionne bien en ft8/4 et avec mmtty. Donc je suppose que les paramètres de sorties sont ok. 73 F5ind?

SOLVED!! Hello everyone, First please accept all my thanks for helping me. THANK YOU. Now that I thank you, I am allowed to make fun of myself, I deserve it. Myself, if only the fact of realizing that I was stupid, makes me laugh. After spending hours trying to find the mistake......!! Until now, when I was transmitting, I pressed the "TUNE" button. This button fulfills its function; it sends a "tune"!!! Today, I pressed a macro!! It works perfectly well!! I prepared myself psychologically for your mockery... so, do not hesitate!! Si oui, est-ce que le signal rtty est audible quand tu connectes une casque à ta carte son de sortie au lieu de l'entrée microphone du poste? Devrait être le cas...
Et il se peut que le poste 'veut' utiliser une autre entrée pour la modulation dans ce mode 'data'...?! Assez difficile de tout considérer à distance...
Dans l'autre cas, si le poste communique les signaux audio aussi via USB, il faudrait regarder comment on peut trouver et utiliser la bonne 'carte son' intégrée au poste dans les options fldigi.
Voilà, il vaut mieux me taire maintenant avant de 'dire' encore plus de conneries ;-)

Mais quand vous dites 'En data-ssb ptt ok mais pas de puissance, donc pas de tune.', est-ce que ?a veut dire qu'il y a bien le RTTY modulé mais pas assez d'amplitude et ainsi de puissance diffusée? 'Data-SSB' me semble le bon choix pour votre poste.
Si c'est le cas, dans FLdigi, vous pouvez régler l'amplitude de sortie en bas à droite via le 'TX level attenuator': Une valeur plus négative réduit l'amplitude, et le maximum possible donc est de 0.0 dB afin de mettre le volume 'à fond'. Des valeurs entre -3.0 et -6.0 sont assez aptes à mon avis. Au moins, c'est le cas en utilisant la carte son et des c?bles audio (en analogique). Par contre, je ne sais pas si c'est similaire en utilisant le contr?le du poste via un port USB, surtout quand l'audio est aussi communiqué via le port USB.
Au-delà de ces petites remarques, je regrette, mais je n'ai pas d'autres idées à contribuer, car je ne suis qu'un écouteur et ne connais pas en détail la partie 'émission' et contr?le du poste en général.
