Ok, then that is the issue. Set fldigi to Rtty mode and it'll probably do fine. Flrig has the capability key the transmitter I believe in FSK, but I've never done it. Hopefully someone can help in this.

In your first post, you said the radio was in RTTY mode. If the IC-7100 is like other recent Icom radios, RTTY mode is FSK RTTY, which needs an on-off FSK keying input. A constant carrier on a single frequency is what it will send if there is no FSK keying; this is a classic symptom of a radio in FSK mode without an FSK keying input.

As I understand it, fldigi requires some external hardware to key FSK (either pseudoFSK, or a nanoIO, MORTTY or Navigator device). Some of the responses you are getting in this thread assume that you are using AFSK, meaning sound card modulation the same as other digital modes, not FSK keying. For AFSK the radio needs to be in USB-D mode, not RTTY mode.

Sounds to me like a sound card issue. Not connecting on transmit. Maybe on wrong channel or need to put it on both channels??

I? have installed IC 7100 usb drivers and am connected with a usb-a cable. The radio is set to RTTY . I have rig control with flrig,fldigi, and N3FJP operation. If I send a rtty message directly from the radio, fldigi decodes it perfectly. I am just not able to send.
