That guy has been trying to sell that thing for months and months. It's ummm, pretty wild in the paint department to say the least.
Unless the Army or maybe Dick Cheney buys it, I think it'll sit awhile longer. If the price was right you could buy and repaint it,
but he wants high top dollar. No thanks.............

Re: [WT] L6-161 Lightning Motor Question...

Harold Miller

Thanks for the advice, I think I can grab it with one of those screw
removers, the ones that look like a nut.

My main concern was that the bolts appear to go thru the head and into the
block.

My L134 the thermostat housing does not go into the block; so I was not
expecting this one to .

I got all but these two bolts off and ready to take the head off.

Trying to see how bad the interior of the motor is. I can't spin it with a
socket and ratchet.

Re: 50 willys pu

Assuming that you've adjusted the idle screw on the carb already and
there are no vacuum leaks: The timing could be off. Mark where your
timing is right now, and then swivel the distributor at idle to see if
any particular spot makes it idle properly.

Are your points clean in the distributor?

CJ2/3 motor mount plates?

Keith Haw

Hello.
I was checking out the 3a motor/trans I got for my 2a and noticed the motor mount placement is different. It looks like the 3a left mounting ear faces toward the rear. The M38 motor plate looks the same. Can I move the left mount on the frame or do I need to replace the mounting plate on the motor with a 2a plate?
Thanks
Keith
