Re: one more call for hosts!

Cheryl-

We're hosting three folks at our house already, but if there is desperate need, we have a single upper bunk bed (Jonas') and floor space (hard-wood floor with thin area rug) in his room (person needs to be able to crawl up ladder). We also have two cats and kids, so this may cut down on desirability.

Best,
Brenda

Hello once again fellow dancers,

Hope your holidays are all going well!
Less than four days to go until Jan Jam and traveling dancers are still
sending in requests. Any chance there are any of you who could not commit
earlier, but are able to now??
We have about 7 dancers still who need a place to stay, a few only needing
Saturday night. I would LOVE to say yes to these folks who are eager to
join us for Jam Jam.

Thanks in advance all for offering a sofa or spare bed (or floor). Looking
forward to hearing from you friendly CU folks soon.

Cheryl

Tell them to bring air mattresses and sleeping bags and floor space will appear -- at least it always has in the past.

David Wolf

Jonathan, and all:
I talked with Brenda Koenig about having a workshop on Saturday at 5:00.? I didn't give it a name.? But I'll call it "Emore," pronounced eh-mo-reh.? It's about fun, "moving around" the room (the lounge), following and leading, singing--being in the moment, having fun instead of stress.? If there's some reason for me not to have the workshop, let me know.? I'll continue to plan on it.

I attended the contra dance at the CMF on Friday evening (great fun!). I left a pair black boots there (they are suede and have zippers up the front). I was wondering if anyone found them?

Thanks,

Call for JanJam House Hosts!!

Here is a note from Cheryl Louviere who is in charge of arranging
housing for out of town dancers at Jan Jam. If you can help out
please contact her at <cheryl.louviere@...>

-----

Hello fellow dancers!

I hope this note finds you all well and staying warm.
The holiday season is nearly upon us and of course, perhaps even
better(?!), Jan Jam 09 is right on it's heels . . . we all know what
that means- dance gypsies will be descending upon CU on January 2nd
and 3rd. As Housing Coordinator once again this year, I ask for your
goodness and generosity, your homes and your smiles and your hospitality!

If you are able to host dancers, please do let me know:
1. Number of dancers you can host
2. Accomodations: bed, futon, sofa, floor, air mattress, etc
3. Do you have pets?
4. Your name, number and address
5. Anything else you think is important and I have forgotten

I do already have requests coming in so would love to reply to these
travelers. Also, I will be leaving town Dec 22 to 30, so would just
LOVE to hear from many of you dedicated contra folks soon. Thanks in
advance for keeping the good dance-gypsy karma alive and well in CU.

See you on the dance floor,
Cheryl

One thing that some people find helpful is to adjust the information displayed by their email program. The exact method of doing this will be different for every different program, but I suspect that most have the ability to display a lot of varied information about the email that you receive. For example I am using Thunderbird and it is telling me that Drew's message came from Drew, but also came from the ucd_contra@... address. That plus the prefix [ucd_contra] on the subject lets me know that this message was from the list and not from Drew directly.
