We will be holding our last contra dance of 2008 this coming
Friday, December 19. Due to work being done at the Phillips Center
the dance will be held at the Channing-Murray Foundation, 1209 W.
Oregon in Urbana on the U of I campus, at the corner of Oregon and
Mathews. The band for the evening will be Banjulele and the caller
will be Ruth Riegel-Lamborghini. Scott Meyer will be leading a short
introductory session for new dancers starting at 7:30 and then the
dance will start at 8 p.m. Bring a dozen holiday cookies to share at
the break and get $1 off the admission price to the dance.
For even more dancing next weekend the Central Illinois English
Country Dancers will be holding their Christmas Ball on Saturday,
December 20 in room 314 of the Illini Union. There will be short
intro session at 7 p.m. and the ball will start at 8 p.m. The music
for the evening will be provided by the Flatland Consort and the
dances will be led by Tom Anderson, Sherry DeWan, Jane Hobgood, Scott
Meyer and Jonathan Sivier. Admission is $7 and everyone is invited to
come join us.
