Message Policy Reply-To setting changed from "Group" to "Sender"

Urbana County Dancers!

In order to reduce the number of follow-up messages that you receive,
I changed the Message Policy Reply-To setting from "Group" to "Sender".
For the techies, here is a 20-year-old argument for this change:
? ?

Now back to upcoming Dance and Music events:

  • Fri Apr 29 7:30p Beginner's lesson @ Channing-Murray
  • Fri Apr 29 8-10:30/11ish Jonathan's FREE Birthday Dance w/Kristi & Too Old To Be Controlled
  • Sun May 1 4-6p Turino Family Band @ ?Rose Bowl?? ?Big Tent?

Unitarily,
Dan
Urbana Country Dancers

Re: Time for a callers' workshop ...

There should be a "reply to sender" link at the bottom of all messages. Some email programs will do this as well. Unfortunately, they don't all work the same way and some don't do this very well. So some email programs will send the reply to everyone, even if you select reply to sender. The most certain way to do this is to replace the "To" address with the address of the person you want to send the message to. However, it can be hard to remember to do that every time. We all have failed to do that from time to time.

People can also click on "Mute This Topic" in the footer of every message. That way you won't see any further replies to the thread.

Of course, this list is intended to allow a certain amount of discussion of contra dance and related topics and not just announcements of upcoming events. So there will likely always be a few messages you will need to ignore and/or delete.

Re: getting proof of vaccination status

If one is a client of Carle and has a MyCarle account, they too have a vaccination record link. This link records your covid vaccination even if you got one or more of your shots outside the Carle network. Simply log into your MyCarle account, from Menu select Covid19, and that takes you to this link. I think Christie Clinic uses the same system as Carle, but OSF does not.

Some people have expressed concerns on how to show they are vaccinated at the dance on Friday. Of course you can bring your COVID card and show it at the door. Another possibility is to go to the Illinois Department of Public Health Vax Verify web site. It is a bit of hassle setting up an account, but once you do you can print out your vaccination status very easily. It shows a lot of your past vaccinations for all sorts of things. It showed the flu vaccines I have gotten the last couple of years and several other vaccinations I have gotten the past 10 years or so. However, you can get it to show just the COVID vaccinations and print that out. I saved it as a pdf so I can print it whenever I need it. The site is at

We'll have a sign in sheet (for contact tracing just in case), but we may also be able to use it to show who has previously shown their vaccination status so it won't have to be done each time. That is still in the works.

I hope to see everyone on Friday.

Jonathan

Re: getting proof of vaccination status

I went to the Sangamon Cty Dept of Public?Health and they were able to print out a list?of my Covid vaccinations. I was surprised that they even have evidence of my vaccinations from the 1940s. I was not born in Illinois or lived here until the?1950s.?

Re: first contra dance in 2 years on Friday #Dance

Jenny, et al,

Are you saying that the initial two doses of vaccine, or initial single dose of J&J, is not enough, people must also have a booster to attend?

Yes. An exception would be for people who became fully vaccinated too recently to be eligible for a booster.

Please see "COVID-19 Vaccine Boosters":
? ?
In particular "People are best protected when they stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccinations, which includes getting one booster when eligible."

Hoping you have been, and remain, healthy!
Dan
