Interesting Article 3
Start your day with some good news ?! This is very interesting ? and make sure you read the full article. The population of Earth is around 7.8 Billion. For most people, it is a significant figure. However, if you condensed 7.8 billion into 100 persons, and then into various percentage statistics, the resulting analysis is relatively much easier to comprehend. Out of 100: 11 are in Europe 5 are in North America 9 are in South America 15 are in Africa 60 are in Asia 49 live in the countryside 51 live in a city, 75 have mobile phones 25 do not. 30 have internet access 70 do not have the availability to go online 83 can read 17 are illiterate. 33 are Christians 22 are Muslims 14 are Hindus 7 are Buddhists 12 are other religions 12 have no religious beliefs. 26 live less than 14 years 66 died between 15 - 64 years of age 8 are over 65 years old. If you have your own home, Eat full meals & drink clean water, Have a mobile phone, Can surf the internet, and have gone to college, You are in the minuscule privileged lot. (in the less than 7% category) Amongst 100 persons in the world, only eight live or exceed the age of 65! If you are over 65 years old, be content & grateful Cherish life. Grasp the moment. If you did not leave this world before the age of 64, like the 92 persons who have gone before you, you are already the blessed amongst humankind. Take good care of your health. Cherish every remaining moment. If you think you are suffering memory loss, read on. Anosognosia, very interesting: In the following analysis, the French Professor Bruno Dubois, Director of the Institute of Memory and Alzheimer's Disease (IMMA) at La Piti¨¦-Salp¨ºtri¨¨re - Paris Hospital addresses the subject in a rather reassuring way: "If anyone is aware of their memory problems, they do not have Alzheimer's." 1. forget the names of families. 2. do not remember where I put some things. It often happens in people 60 years and older that they complain that they lack memory. "The information is always in the brain, it is the "processor" that is lacking." This is "Anosognosia" or temporary forgetfulness. Half of people 60 and older have some symptoms that are due to age rather than disease. The most common cases are: - forgetting the name of a person, - going to a room in the house and not remembering why we were going there, - a blank memory for a movie title or actor, an actress, - a waste of time searching where we left our glasses or keys. After 60 years most people have such a difficulty, which indicates that it is not a disease but rather a characteristic due to the passage of years. Many people are concerned about these oversights hence the importance of the following statements: 1."Those who are conscious of being forgetful have no serious problem of memory." 2. "Those who suffer from a memory illness or Alzheimer's are not aware of what is happening." Professor Bruno Dubois, Director of IMMA, reassures the majority of people concerned about their oversights: "The more we complain about memory loss, the less likely we are to suffer from memory sickness." We are truly blessed, So, share this with your over-55 friends, it can reassure them. In any case, if you are over 65 and complaining about a few aches and pains, think again........ 92% of people didn't even get that opportunity!! So be pleased with your situation and be happy. Pete Lozano , class member
Begin forwarded message: From: Johnny Coats <jlcoats6387@...> Date: October 2, 2024 at 5:20:25 PM CDT To: Johnny Coats <jlcoats6387@...> Subject: Pete Lozano ? Our beloved father, Pedro (Pete) F. Lozano, went home to be with the Lord on October 1, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born in Sonora, TX on October 6, 1944. After working years as a truck driver and with local sign companies, he gained working knowledge and opened his own sign business known as Lozano Sign Company. He was very talented and created all his work by hand, with no use of computer systems as done today. He worked hard all his life and instilled in his children determination and hard work ethics. He served in his local church at Templo Emanuel as Sunday School Superintendent and Royal Ranger Commander. He participated in camping (pow-wows), teaching young men outdoor adventures and survival skills enforcing the Royal Ranger code. He also served as the church bus driver, from driving kids to youth camps to church bands like La Bella Historia. He used his artistic talents in the church to create special background scenery for holiday programs. He even hand-painted the iconic wall-sized baptismal mural that remained for many years. Pete was friendly to all and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He never met a stranger. If you ever stopped to talk to Pete, he would talk your ear off. He loved classic cars and was always trading and selling. His children, nieces, and nephews will always remember his long-winded life lessons, like ¡°Don¡¯t waste food! There are starving children in other countries!¡± He was very witty and a jokester. His children, better known as ¡°stinkies¡± to him, have great memories of their family camping trips. The family would like to thank Cassandra and Elsa, the two wonderful Shannon ICU nurses who gave him exceptional care. Also, heartfelt thanks to Yolanda, Juanita, and Mandy, from San Angelo Nursing & Rehab, because they treated our father like their own. Pete was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Emma Lozano, and his parents, Ramon Sr. and Victoria Lozano. He is survived by his children Pedro Lozano Jr. (Tere), Bernice Urteaga (Lino), and Edna Casanova (Ramon). He leaves behind his loving grandchildren: Anthony Castillo (Jessica), Dasha Kishak (Joseph), Cody Urteaga, Celeste Lozano, Mia Lozano, Azalia Lozano, Olivia Casanova, and Matthew Casanova. He was blessed with five great-grandchildren: Aiden, Jakobi, Nicholas, Josiah, and Zayla. He is also survived by his brother, Ramon Lozano, Jr. (Connie), and sisters Hortencia Castillo (Ben) and Mary Valentine (Jim). Visitation will be 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at Harper Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 4, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Harper Funeral Home.

Survived another Labor Day 6
Here we go, ready to enjoy yet another week end and no one has said how or if they survived the last one, not to mention the week we have just seen. Personally, I didn't do anything special for Labor Day, just stayed home and enjoyed that. Got a few little things done that needed doing and then sat down to read for awhile. With the weather changes, we did get some much needed rain, so I celebrate that. The gauges show we got almost 1 3/4" of good rain, the soaking kind. Certainly not as much as some of you may have gotten but we are grateful just the same. So now, take a few minutes and tell us what you did or didn't do for Labor Day and this past week. John T. Sad news 12
I just received a call from my friend and our classmate, that his wife Anna passed away late last night. She has been struggling with many health issues these last few years and I talked to her last week and she said she had problems with the change in medicine her doctor had switched to. So very sad, I considered her part of my family and I know you classmates felt the same. I will go to be with him when he gets over the shock. He didn't request me to inform you, but I don't think he would object. Anna recently lost her older sister and she was somewhat depressed about her lose. She said the oldest sister was her rock, after loosing her parents.
